The good news is that the unit comes with an extension USB cord from the rear, that can be installed into the glove box or (in my case) out under the console. It is very easy. The bad news is that there is only one USB connection this single connection is also the ONLY external connection. So, you can only have one device connected via this connection - e.g. only your smartphone, or your thumbdrive, not both. I really, REALLY wish they had included a storage card slot for media.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You plug your USB cable into the port and run it where you want it to come out in your car, frequently a glove box or pop out a console plug. You can always zip tie the cable to the port to ensure that it doesn't fall out.
