“I have Mitsubishi Mirage with factory Bluetooth. When the unit is installed, what happens to my factory Bluetooth mic and hardware? Does the radio reuse them or replace them leaving them as useless hardware?”

It comes with a mic that you'll need to install separately. Bluetooth is built into the unit, so your phone will still connect to the unit.
