A:AnswerFrom my research, as long as you have a "High Speed" HDMI cable, it will work. I did have to buy a ten foot cable to reach from my Denon AVR to the TV. Apparently it is a marketing ploy to get you to buy new, and expensive, cables specifically labeled "4K". Mine are older high speed cables and they work just fine. I check to see what resolution our Samsung TV (by pressing the "Enter" button on the remote) is displaying in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Blu-Rays look great! Good luck!
A:AnswerIt's highly recommended because it's excellent at its primary purpose, playing UHD Blu ray discs. Load time is very quick, and it's one of the only players I've seen that supports Dolby Vision.
Are you saying it's terrible because of the streaming video apps? This device is a Blu-Ray player first. There are other models that are focused on streaming video, but honestly, you're better off using a Roku or Apple TV or something for streaming video anyway.
A:AnswerHi butch, Yes it does. You may refer to page 29 of this link:

A:AnswerHi ForestJohn, Yes, you have to directly connect your BluRay player to your TV. You will still get sound the sound from the receiver if the TV is connected using HDMI-ARC. Thanks! ^Ron
A:AnswerThe reason I asked this is because I've been looking for a 4K Blu-ray player that supports 3D Blu-ray playback, but also can convert it to 2D and play it back on any TV, especially since my new 4KTV does not support 3D at all. Whenever I'm looking for a certain piece of A/V equipment to buy, I always look up its respective manual first to see whatever additional features/limitations I might encounter. The manual for this lists an option called 3D output setting, which suggests that it will display a 3D Blu-ray in 2D when set to "off" (a capture of that from the manual will be added). I was wondering if this would work with my 2DTV.
A:AnswerHi Garfield, it depends on the resolution of the file. For more information, please refer to pg.30 of the link below. Thanks! ^Ron
