“Was downloading videos and got disconnected tried to reconnect but it kept saying connected to phone than disconnected from phone. App said check camera. Nothing was wrong that I saw. Had to turn camera off than on. Is it defective?”

Sounds like there is an issue. I haven't had that problem. It did take me a little while to figure out. and im not happy with some of the features. Good luck
