FYI - my car's socket power stays on after engine shuts off. Did not need to hardwire for running in parking mode. But after 3 weeks of doing this, my battery voltage went far below the cut off setting because the Thinkware would NOT shut off at cut off voltage.

I have mine set to turn off when the battery drops below 12.3 V. with continues recording up to 48 hours and will automatically turn off after that. I've never had a problem with the device draining my battery. During winter season and when it is really cold, the device shuts down due to low battery but did not kill the battery to a point where i could not start the vehicle.

Hardwired dash cams will automatically switch from Continuous Recording Mode to Parking Surveillance Mode once the ignition is off, provided that the "Parking Mode" setting is also enabled under "Recording Settings". Unfortunately, we currently do not have a feature that will activate Parking Surveillance Mode at different time. To extend Parking Surveillance Mode operation, please adjust the Off-Timer setting, the Off-Voltage setting, and lower the motion sensitivity. When the dash cam is hardwired correctly, Parking Surveillance Mode operation will not drain your car battery! Please let us know if you have additional questions.
