Do you have to have a subscription plan just to start the car remotely? I don’t care about gps null

You only need the subscription plan if you want to use your phone or Apple Watch to start , lock/unlock , trunk or gps the car. It comes with a remote you can put on your keychain that can remote start your car.

If you use the key fob to crank the vehicle, then no. If you are wanting to use the app and your cell phone then you do need a subscription to the Viper service.

Yes you do. I didn’t know this at first and after the free trial expired, I could no longer start my car from my phone. So it was useless. So of course I had to purchase a 3 year subscription—the most basic one which was about $180 for 3 years. Let’s hope nothing happens to my vehicle the next 3 years.
