Connect your vehicle to a smartphone with this Viper SmartStart GPS module. By downloading the corresponding app, you can access functions such as keyless entry, remote start, speed alerts and location tracking. The wireless connectivity of this Viper SmartStart GPS module lets you operate the program from a virtually unlimited range.
Q: Do you have to have a subscription plan just to start the car remotely? I don’t care about gps
A: You only need the subscription plan if you want to use your phone or Apple Watch to start , lock/unlock , trunk or gps the car. It comes with a remote you can put on your keychain that can remote start your car.
Q: Does this support delayed start for diesels?
A: YES!! My truck is a 1997 F250 POWERSTROKE. Works perfectly! As a matter of fact, the amount of delay is programmable. Because I spend a week at-a- time in below-freezing weather, I have the delay set for 16 seconds.
A: I had this installed along with the Viper DS4+SmartStart system on my 2003 GMC and my Wife's 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Both vehicles can be started or locked or unlocked plus vehicle status via the Viper SmarStart app.
A: This is an add-on module. You also need the Viper remote starter or security device. It costs a couple hundred dollars. It should work with your Apple smart phone. The Smart Start is actually a cellular device that communicates with your phone via cell signal. So it should work fine - just like you're calling someone who has an Android phone. The cell service doesn't care what the connected devices are. It should work with your Honda, as long as the remote starter or security device does. You can check with the Best Buy installer to be sure. In addition to the cost of the device itself, you also need to pay for the cell service. That cost varies by plan, but I prepaid $169.99 for 3 year service ($4.72 monthly). Its well worth the cost.
A: It works with all fuel injected cars.
A: I believe the Viper system will override the remote start and will work in conjunction with the keyless entry. I would recommend speaking with a tech at Best Buy.
A: I also have Verizon 4G. Works perfectly.
Q: I see it uses the AT&T network. Does this work with a Verizon wireless phone?
A: Yes. Mine is Verizon, and it works fine.
