The drive is easily recognized by windows, it's plug and play, and it's formatted for windows. It doesn't have to be partitioned. Unless you use it for Mac OS or Linux then it would have to be re-partitioned and formatted to match your OS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It did not need to be partitioned with my Windows PCs. It came formatted and ready to use. I believe it could be partitioned if your file organization required it.
