A:AnswerYes, but there is technically no "tape" in/out. It is simply labeled Line 3.
Bose 901 series V1 claim to handle up to 450w RMS.
This receiver will only push 100w rms per channel. But, that is ridiculously LOUD for home listening.
A:AnswerThere is not a 3.5 mini plug in on the receiver but it has 4 RCA input plugs on the back and Best Buy sells the "Insignia™ - 6' 3.5mm Mini-to-RCA Stereo Audio Cable - Black" for $10.99 which is what I used for years on my previous cheap stereo system which will work for you.
A:AnswerLike any computer you can reset. Unplug it overnight and see if it resets. If not then return it. If it does manually (on the receiver) go through the functions. If everything works the way it should then it was a one off glitch. If it does it again anytime soon then return it.
A:AnswerYou are producing distortion which is heat. Amps thermal is kicking in. Need more volume then get a BIGGER receiver with more power. This is a 50 by 4. It is a SMALL receiver. It is the same as red lining a tach on a car. Engines don't like it and will shut down if it perceives imminent damage, Receivers do the same.I would also try checking your speaker connections and type of speaker wire. If wire is too small then it will shut the amp down at higher volumes and if your speakers are wired out of phase then it can also cause the receiver to shut down. If all that is correct and it still shuts down then you need a bigger receiver with more power.
A:AnswerMatt, would it be a viable option, rather than cutting the cord, to just buy an extension cord with a 90 deg. plug and move the stock plug to the side?
A:AnswerYou can adjust the balance. That will make one or the other speaker more pronounced than the other. The overall volume is only controlled by by the volume control. Keep in mind that in a two channel set up that both speakers don’t play the same sound.
A:AnswerIt is NOT junk - it's a YAMAHA. I bought this unit refurbished earlier this year at just under $100 and intended to give it as a gift to my wife's teenage nephew. But after trying it out at my office, its been in use for over 8 months playing solid from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. I listen to FM for NPR news in the morning then play a 50-disc SONY CD Changer connected to the dedicated CD set of RCA input jacks or I will play my SONY MP3 player connected to the LINE 1 RCA input jacks for a wider variety of random play music. It has great specifications at 100 R.M.S. (i.e. honest) watts per channel. I consider it a bargain at the latest offering of under $50. I may take advantage of this bargain price and finally give one to my wife's nephew as I originally intended to do.
