    I dont know whats with all the negative reviews, maybe those people have outdated handsets. Im using an iPhone 12 pro and the wifi connectivity for wireless carplay is awesome. really happy with this head unit, having upgraded from an AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120)

    This was the biggest and most expensive mistake of the year. This radio randomly stops working. It took forever to finally recognize CarPlay and randomly disconnects when wireless. The touch screen is horrible and barely responsive. The balance no longer works only the front speakers. The settings are insufferable. Updating the firmware requires a technician. I have mine connected to the steering controls and that's hit or miss. Sadly I have a slew of complaints.

    Love the upgrade. Lots of Features. Connection could be easier. It connects but you have to connect To Wi-Fi and has so many steps. Played With it For an hour straight. My phone is connected but husbands is not.

    First, I specifically requested a head unit with a stand alone GPS navigation, and he sold me this unit which does not have it. After discovering this after install, they have scheduled to have this unit replaced with another that does. While waiting for that appointment, using this unit while driving has been so-so. The Android Auto has disconnected from my Samsung phone repeatedly while driving, requiring me to reconnect each time. Not exactly the safest or most convenient while driving. The controls are okay, but not the easiest menus to go through, requiring a bit of digging for simple things like audio adjustment. Not the worst, but would recommend a better unit.

    Best brand to buy for head units for sure but the wireless auto connection is pretty annoying and not worth the other perks and i dont like the touch screen volume buttons prefer physical buttons

    As a former employee who only left the company when I joined the military— I love Best Buy and I love Geek Squad. I still have all my stock in the company for my years there. But this is absolutely embarrassing. I always recommend to people that they should buy Geek Squad excellent items as they come in the exact same condition as New and include all of the original accessories. This item just showed up. The metal around the frame is dented, and it is missing every single accessory besides the main wiring harness. I purchased the Geek Squad excellent version. i’m stationed overseas so the return process is gonna take about two weeks to get back to Best Buy and another two weeks to get my new item. This is all because the item I purchased was improperly certified as excellent.

    Sluggish performance and wireless functions drops

    This Pioneer unit has sluggish menu performance, a lot of stutter while navigating different menus and screens. Wireless android auto disconnects frequently, installation was made at Best Buy of Pembroke Pines, FL (technician was superb and friendly :)

    Not so happy. Already bought in to bed serviced twice. Still no resolution. Loses power as I drove. Audio Bluetooth sounds worse than My original radio. Keeps losing phone connection both connected and wirelessly.

    Decent radio - wireless android auto is spotty at times and usually disconnects once or twice during medium/long drives. I am normally a pioneer guy, but am probably going to go for a Kenwood for my next install.

    I ordered an open box radio on line from Best Buy, and parts for installation. When I went to have it installed I waited 2 1/2 hours only to be told there were parts missing and the radio was 4 years old. The Best Buy manager offered me the same model radio at the same price I paid for mine then 5 minutes later came back and said I would have to pay the difference. Terrible customer service.

    I like it , it’s just extremely difficult to utilize the features and it’s not possible to do without YouTube tutorials . It’s sometimes a bit laggy and really inconvenient that’s it’s all touch no physical buttons or volume knobs

    The technician that did the install , took fifteen minutes and explained all the different functions on the stereo and explained in a simple language that I could understand.

    I have always seen pioneer as a leader in car audio. Until now. The name reflected their products, and maybe they still do but this particular product I am completely dissatisfied with. I am using Android auto with my note 10+. It lags in connecting to my phone, and at times restarts repeatedly not connecting at all. I get a glimpse of how it should work, but it is so annoying I cant even enjoy my music, and when someone comes into my car and I try to show them how it works, it flops. Maybe I got a lemon, but I have heard of others suffering the same way. And the bluetooth handsfree, everyone says I sound terrible. They can't hear me. I end up picking up my cell more with this unit installed. I missed my return date thinking I had 30 days, but I only had 15. I was not an elite member. I saved for this thing. $600+ is not cheap. And I get this. Call it nex because you will be looking for the next stereo. I wish it just worked. Oh well, I learned a hard lesson. My options are limited and will take time to remedy.
