    Wireless Apple Carplay connectivity is very spotty

    I'll start with the biggest issue: I purchased this unit exclusively because it had wireless Apple Carplay. With that being said, wireless Apple Carplay cycles between un-usable and good depending on your location. In downtown area's audio pops in and out, maps lag, and often the screen will go entirely black until it disconnects from Carplay and connects via regular Bluetooth. Pioneer has no fix for this beyond the promise of a "future" software update to "hopefully" address the issue. This being the only reason for purchasing the unit, I would not purchase this unit or another Pioneer unit in the future. Other than that, this unit works good with radio, Bluetooth, and wired Apple Carplay. The connection for each of those is good but the unit has slow response to anything you try to do. Overall, I would be very underwhelmed with this unit even without the wireless Apple Carplay issues.

    Replaced my Pioneer AVH-4000NEX to a Pioneer DMH-4660NEX was worth it. I love Pioneer but this upgrade is Awesome.

    Very happy with my choice of radio. This was installed in my 2013 Pruis 4. Every mode of this radio works great. Very Happy.

    This has made a great replacement for my factory radio that bite the dust after 6yrs. Works well with families that are split Apple/Android users.

    Microphone was horrible. All the other reviews were correct. No one can hear you. It was also very annoying to have to use the usb for the car play. It was in a very inconvenient spot.

    I’ve had this unit for 5 months and my number one problem is that it’s very unresponsive to the touch. Sometimes it disconnects the wireless CarPlay and it has trouble connecting to my Wi-Fi 90% of the time. I would return this product if I could.

    Screen could be brighter and contrast of image better for apple carplay. Bluetooth and wired CarPlay audio sound nice, but Siri and phone function audio sounds horrible. Like Siri or person you’re calling is in a tin can. Can hardly understand caller. Touch screen is not very good either. Very disappointed.
