A: No, it is not SSD. SSD drives are better but more expensive. I've not had a problem with this or any of my Seagate portable external hard drives, and I carry one with me. Just keep it protected as much as possible.Q: Is this drive about the size of a cell phone? (2 answers)
A: Nearly the width as my iPhone 13 Pro (with phone case) and about 1 inch shorter.- A: The drive is formatted as NTFS out of the box, so you can read and write with Windows but only read on a Mac (without special drivers). Maybe that is all you need, but if you need to write to it from a Mac, you will want to get some software for the Mac, or reformat the drive as exFAT. The latter is my preference since it works pretty much everywhere and it take a couple minutes to do. Most all my flash and portable drives are formatted as exFAT for that reason.
