However, the SanDisk Extreme Portable PRO SSD V2 has read and write speeds of upto 2000MB/s each, when used with a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface.
A: You can password protect it by installing SanDisk Security app. The installer is available in the disk itself. So it's Free.

Q: Is this device compatible with macOS Big Sur? (The Samsung T5 is not.)

I love the device, it really small, blazing fast and easy to carry around. I'm using it as my MacBook time machine, highly recommended.

Small but mighty
I needed a new storage device for my pictures after my laptop died. I didn’t want to risk losing years of memories. This is tiny and does the job. I bought a storage case on Amazon.
