Longer is better
The 6 ft is approximately 2ft longer than the 4ft. You should measure the distance from your gas hookup to to the furthest edge where the appliance can fit before choosing a hose. I had to swap the left/right arrangement of my laundry in my new home due to the wall hookup placement. The Magnolia associate had automatically assumed 4ft hose length despite the 6ft hose actually being cheaper but I needed a longer hose.

A little expensive but works
Works well with the washer and dryer set that I bought, the installation personnel was very helpful in getting everything installed and working.
