Make connectivity simple with this TP-LINK TL-SG108E 8-port 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet switch, which offers tag-based QoS (Quality of Service) for easy network management. IGMP Snooping capability enhances multicast applications.
A: Hi! The TL-SG108E is not a PoE switch model. If you are interested in an 8-Port, Gigabit PoE switch, we suggest considering our TL-SG108PE model, instead.
A: Yes, you may add another one. You can use any ports. I think you should power up the earliest devices in the chain first. Modem first, then the router, then the first smart switch, then the next switch in the chain. Most switches have interchangeable ports. (Not true for POE or power over ethernet switches).
A: I don't think so. I have added an extra switch between my router and one of my computers and not noticed any change. The switches should support 1000Mbps which is faster than most of the internet service available.

This is a great gigbit network switch. I have two of the 5 port models as well and they have been up and running without flaw for 2 years now. I like the ability to be able to log into the switch interface and set certain controls such as VLAN, QOS, bandwidth limits and port priority, and the network cabling check feature is also nice. The metal housing of the switch is very sturdy and also serves to dissipate any heat the device produces. A well built and well designed product. I would certainly buy again.

Exactly as advertised. It has plenty of ports, it's made of metal, dead easy to set up (just plug in your network cable from your router and network cables from your other devices) and it's a great value at the price for extending the number of ethernet ports in your house.

Great for what I'm using it for. We have an upstairs office and the main router is downstairs. So we are running our ethernet to our computers/other devices through a single ethernet cable ran from our WiFi extender. We both get speeds around 500 Mbps using CAT6. Can't complain. Great deal!
