Works great and sends out a strong Wifi signal.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Connection quality, Price, Set upFirst of all I was very happy how fast Best Buy got this item to me. They matched the Amazon price, about $9 off and got it here faster than Amazon would have. I believe it came from California and arrived earlier than predicted just in time for the install of my new cable internet. It sends the signal much further and stronger than my old DSL duel line CenturyLink modem/router. The WPS button the the back is hard to see and I found it later as an after thought. Be careful, if you hold it to long it turns off the wifi because it is also an on/off switch. I accidentally turned it off and had to look a lot closer to see what I was doing. It is easy to set up with the Tether app you can load on your cell phone. I had it all set up even before the cable service brought my free modem. In the 5G mode I get the full 100 mbps and about 80mbps at the 2.4G mode. My extenders were almost not necessary as the signal is very strong. I used one extender to mimic my old wifi SSID and password so I wouldn’t have to reprogram some of my devices. With Alexa, I have many. Also, my Netgear EX3700 that would only work 10 feet away from my Century Link modem now works at any distance from the router which made me very happy. So far everything works great and it was very easy to set up. Great product, I recommend it if you want something very good at a good price.

3 router connection options
Posted .Pros mentioned:Connection quality, RangeWhat makes this router more advanced than other wi-fi routers is that you can connect to it via an app on my smartphone called Tether app (pic 01). Just makes things easier and more convenient for me and my family. I'm used to connecting via web browser so I had to consult the manual and it was a quick setup process. This Archer C7 router also has 2 USB LED plug ins, which I can connect my external drives directly to so I can open documents or print files or pictures quickly (pic 02). Good wifi range for my 2-story house. Sufficient connectivity overall & haven't experienced the inconsistencies others have with this router. Also like how much thinner & less bulky this router is compared to my older TP-link router. Well recommended. Submitted as part of sample program.

Great speeds, OK range

Quality3 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The setup was relatively easy just using a laptop. My Wi-Fi speeds did increase compare to my old system but the range was just not enough in my household. I had to return it and buy a mesh Wi-Fi system. Otherwise, this is a great Wi-Fi router without breaking the bank.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This is the best router I’ve had. Had some issues with set up but after we had that figured out it’s been perfect. Faster than my old Netgear router. Absolutely love the parental controls on the app! My kids hate it.

Q: QuestionIs this version 2 of this router as was reviewed in PC Magazine?
Asked by Zinfandel.
- A:Answer I purchased this recently and checked the version. It is Hardware Version: 5.0. The interface is graphical and it should perform all the functions in the PC Mag review. I bought it for the VPN capability and it is built in without any 3rd party firmware. I have been very pleased with the setup and operating speed. Photos show the detailed hardware version.
