The MS Arc Mouse took a bit of breaking-in on my part but when I got used to it, I recognized its advantages. Any fears, such as short battery life, proved unfounded and laid a basis for more bragging by the Energizer Bunny and the Best Buy salesperson who recommended it to me in the first place. As a collector of Chinese antiques and part-time translator, the ARC Mouse actually speeds my job of setting up Chinese characters in my collection catalog. Now back to the book.
It's amazing and works like technological sorcery. I don't know why people complain about it flattening when it can take a fair amount of pressure. So easy to turn on and off with a snap and runs on batteries so no need to lug around a cord and charging brick. Being able to scroll without a scroll wheel is wild and so easy, perfect for use in a library without being embarrassed about the sound of your scrolling. I highly recommend this incredible accessory. It also compliments the Surface Pro beautifully.
Love the sleek design. Very responsive. The downside is I have to keep wiping it down every few days because the click button shows an oily stain from my fingers (even though my hand is not particularly oily nor do I use greasy moisturizer).
This mouse is as much a fashion accessory as it is a functional piece of tech. The mouse looks even better in person than it does in pictures. The quality of the materials compared to my old MS Sculpt Comfort Mouse are vastly superior and feel really nice to the touch. The profile is lower than the Sculpt which is proving to be a more comfortable design. I also prefer scrolling on the Arc using touch rather than the Sculpt's scroll wheel. I can scroll vertical or horizontal in any direction. Clicking the touchpad on the Arc is easy. When I'm done using the Arc I can flatten it to turn it off and it looks even nicer when resting on the desk. I purchased the Arc to go with my Surface Pro 8. I haven't taken the Arc to the coffee shop yet and probably won't even though it's compact enough to take with me. I'll just use it as my desktop mouse.
The only item of note is the clicking sound when you press the Arc's touchpad. It's noticeable. I won't say it's an annoying sound but it is noticeable. If your main priority is to have a silent mouse experience then you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, you'll be very pleased with the Arc Mouse. I highly recommend.
We're so glad that you're enjoying your new Arc Mouse. Thanks for letting us know that the Bluetooth connection and compact size are working for you.

Slick travel mouse
Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
The two main features of this mouse are the flexible body and the touch pad “buttons” When traveling you can flatten the mouse and in doing so it powers off, great feature to save batteries and having to remember to switch off when running out the door. The mouse doesn’t have conventional buttons or a scroll wheel but a touchpad that you can click on either side or slide a finger to scroll vertically or horizontally. You might need to download the “Microsoft mouse and keyboard center” app to tweak the settings as I found the horizontal scrolling needed to be set to maximum to be useful. The shape of the mouse makes it a little hard for me to work with the same precision as a regular mouse. The arch shape fills the hand but there is no body under the arch for my thumb and small finger to grip. Over time I might get used to it and modify my grip.
Good mouse, looks slick but a bit pricy. Get it on sale when you can!
A:AnswerYes it works on my Macbook pro 15 inch and it's easy to connect via bluetooth. Down side is it does not have the full trackpad gesture - like if you swipe three fingers up for "mission control" it wouldn't work. Just a basic mouse scrolling/clicking mouse.
A:AnswerIt uses two AAA batteries in a small compartment on the bottom side. Be careful putting batteries in. This is the only device I ever saw where two batteries are inserted in the same orientation. Usually one positive and one negative in each direction. On this one both of each are on the same side. Odd.
A:AnswerDef does, I purchased to which I use with my Microsoft Surface tablet and my SONY VAIO 14" touch screen and it works flawlessly! As long as you have Bluetooth I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work with an BT device.
A:AnswerNo back button. The only button on this Microsoft mouse is the main button. It does have the standard Left/right button functionality though. No back button, no scroll wheel. You can scroll by sliding your finger up/down the big main button. It is designed for the Surface Pro. Built in Bluetooth, so I suspect it'll work with a Bluetooth-enabled PC.
