Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought this Moto X4 Unlocked 32GB/3GB Ram to (Activate Later) for $149.99 (reg $349.99) to activate Tracfone on it with the “Tracfone: Keep your own smartphone Sim Kit - AT&T” for my mom. (XT1900-1) #1) BUY THIS PHONE! – For this price, you should run out of the store like you stole something, lol. Why? Because the specs on this phone for that price is just awesome. #2) Just for an example: I have the LG G6 and while the specs are better on paper – this Moto X4 seems better in every category. I am Jelly. #3) My LG phone ppi = 564 , Moto X4 ppi = 424 (but the Moto looks more crisp and detailed) My phone processor = 821 , Moto processor = 630 (but the Moto seems snappier) #4) This is the Moto X4 “Android One” meaning that this device runs a “pure Android experience” that focuses on providing timely OS and security updates. Motorola and Google promise that this device will get Android Oreo 8.0 and with a guaranteed and fast update to Android Pie 9.0 with all the security update in between. This is exactly what happen to me: Phone started with Android Oreo 8.1.0 OPWS 28.46-21-16 and then got 5 separate Security Patches, then got the Android Pie 9.0 then got another 4 Security Patches. I am now at the Security Patch: PPW 29.69-39-2 (April 1, 2019). So, I went through 9 Security Updates and 1 Android OS UpGrade, so you’ll have to dedicate about 2.9 hours to this, I didn’t want to NOT do an update fearing that if I went back to the phone later to continue the rest of the updates to find out that it won’t update anymore for some reason. NOTE: Have the phone plugged into the wall power outlet the whole time you do these updates, you will be doing a lot of restarts and boot-ups – and be patient, let the phone boot-up completely before doing another update and restart. Never rush this type of procedure. More General Cellphone Notes: 1) Never fill up your internal hard-drive with Apps, try to have only Half filled – the phone will run faster and actually uses the empty space to run quicker. 2) Buy the highest capacity external SDHC Card you can afford to put you MP3 music and have your pictures go to the SDHC Card and not the internal hard drive. 3) If you use any widgets for example: a Weather App or Calendar App, try to only have 2 widgets running on the phone Max. Having more running, constantly drains resources and pulls too much RAM (memory). Bottom Line: BUY THIS PHONE! 4G LTE w/VoLTE support, Display: 5.2” Full HD 1920x1080 at 424 pixels per inch, Storage: 32GB (14.36GB available), RAM memory: 3GB, Actual Size: 5.84”h x 2.89”w x .31”d, Weight: 5.75, Battery: 3,000mAh, Processor: SnapDragon 630 at 64bit, Octa Core 2.2GHz, USB Type C Fast Charge 15W, Fingerprint Scanner, DualBand WiFi: 2.4GHz and 5GHz a/b/g/n/ac, Hotspot, FM Radio, IP68 Dust/Waterproof, NFC, 2 Rear Cameras: 12MP/8MP, 1 Front Camera: 16MP w/Flash, Guaranteed Latest OS: Android Pie 9.0 fyi: Sold Out! as of July 6th 2019 - this phone is unavailable in my area as a new phone and only available to buy online as a used or unboxed item.

Posted .Hi Jesse, my sincere apologies for what happened and we would like to help. I would suggest sending in the device for repair for further evaluation, just go to this link to get instructions for Online warranty request: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/mcp/service/. However, please note that the majority of damages to the display are not covered, and are therefore repaired out of warranty. - Mike

Better than expected.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI originally went into the store expecting to buy a different phone, but they sold out. This phone was on sale and the specs were comparable to the other phone I was originally wanting to get. After playing with this phone for a bit, I think this one actually turned out to be the better deal. This one has alot more features than I originally expected and didn't notice until after I bought it: It has a flash on the front for taking "selfies" at night, it is waterproof, has a wide angle camera, and it automatically can show you notifications/time/whatever just by waving your hand over the screen so if you're laying in bed you can check to see what time it is without even touching the phone. Those are the features I didn't even know about until after buying it. Some more pros: Battery is awesome, I can go 2-possibly 3 days on a single charge and I think of myself as a heavy user (lots of games and facebook) Camera is pretty great also, it's clear and focuses fairly quickly on both front and rear cameras. Screen is super bright, easy to read even out in the sun and the colors are also very deep, even scrolling through old pictures taken with my old phone - this phone's screen makes the pictures look even better than original. Build quality is sturdy, looks clean and sharp, it has a glass back and metal sides, the phone itself is shiny and premium looking but I would still recommend a case if you think you might drop it. Performance-wise, it is running really smooth. Every game I've played on it has opened quickly and run stable. USB-C charger and a headphone jack are also a plus!

Great Phone!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought it as a temp phone to see if the lack of cell coverage was my aging 6yr old Galaxy S4 or the cell service itself. To my surprise it was the phone. I've had the new one for a week now and haven't dropped signal since. It came with android 7 and it updated to android 9. Great features except it doesn't have wireless charging but the turbo charging makes up for it. Battery life is good. I can go 2 days on one charge. I do recommend the 64 gb version because after the security and OS updates, 50% of the storage was used. That's before any apps or games were downloaded. I installed a 128 gb memory card for extra storage. Make sure to purchase a case because the glass back make it a slippery phone. Also, if your current sim is not a nano sim, you will need to update your sim through your carrier. I have Verizon and they did it for free but you have to pick it up from a cooperate store or have it mailed. Retail Verizon stores will charge you for the sim card.

iPhone convert
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis was my first adventure away from the restricted world of Apple. I grabbed it on sale as an unlocked phone an figured it was the safest way of trying Android. I'm happy to say, after a full week with my Motorcycle X4, my iPhone is in my dresser drawer. The 9.0 Android is feels good and intuitive. The battery life is great. I can go 2 days with normal use where my iPhone was lucky to make it a full day. (Really just about 18 or so hrs). The only downside is that a couple of my larger apps take a little longer to load but some (like my weather app) open quicker. Very nice for the price.

Best value in the US market!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5As a consumer who has used the same budget smart phone for three years in a row, I'll be the first to tell you how much I've looked on with envy at people with the latest flagship devices as they take amazing pictures and are able to speedily use the latest trending apps. That envy doesn't last for long when I look at the sticker price for those flagship devices because I'm able to do everything those more expensive devices can do on my cheap phone albeit with less panache. Panache isn't worth $700-$1000 in my opinion. I purchased my three year old Android Marshmallow device for the same price as this Moto X 4 is on sale for($149). It is to be expected that I would feel the same envy when I looked on at people with more higher end devices, but with the Moto X 4 that just isn't the case anymore. I have been able to open up apps faster than my friends with thousand dollar phones and I am able to use my nice over ear headphones without a dongle. At times I feel like my friends now envy my budget phone. I was shockingly surprised by how much feature parody this budget phone has with the expensive flagship devices. From the IP water resistance rating, to the dual cameras on the back, to the impressive aluminum and glass design, this phone is almost neck and neck with devices which are hundreds of dollars more expensive. If you are a budget concious consumer this phone is an excellent value, arguably the best value in the US. If you factor in international budget devices there is some competition there but none of those devices would be as robust as the Moto X 4, because the it is compatible with all four major US carriers. If you are a Sprint user you know how important feature is. If you are convinced that this phone is right for you, there are a few tips you should keep in mind. This phone needs a case and a screen protector if you want it to last long. Glass might feel good in the hand but it breaks easily when dropped. Something else you should know is that there will be a lot of updates from Google. Unfortunately the latest updates don't get rolled out until all consecutive updates before that have finished installing. This means it's a good idea to hold off on popping your sim in and let the phone run updates for about half a day after you purchase it. It may sound like a pain in the rear but the upside is that you are getting the latest version of Android with the latest security patches. Translation your phone is more secure. In conclusion, yes I would definitely recommend this phone to a friend.

budget friendly dependable phone with good support

Quality3 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I purchased this phone from Best Buy with only 50USD. At this price point, it delivers what is supposed to. Internal memory only 32gb but you can expand via microSD card. Having android one, getting security updates quaterly from google. It boasts with mid-rangle qualcomm SD-630 processor so, you can not expect blazing fast operations like SD 8-series chipset but it is okay if you can live with that. It has near stock android OS with some bloatware from Moto like Moto Actions etc but with 3 GB RAM, it performs well. Most noticing feature, it has IP68 rating very rare features at this price point (you usually can find this at flagship level smartphone), so mild water and accidental drop will not have any adverse effect on it. Speaker volume is low. It has LCD display with FHD resolution, so it will not be gorgeous display like samsung OLED panel. Battery can last easily 1 day with inluded turbo boost power, you can easily recharge it 50% within less than 30 mins. It supports CDMA and GSM both so you can use pretty much Sprint, T-Mobile evrything on it. I would have expected a little better camera on it, if you are looking for mobile photography, you should definitely avoid it. Motorola has great support in USA, at the end of 1 year, my speaker went bad and after sending the device to Motorola repair center, within 1 day they sent a new device as replacement, without any cost (FREE!!). So i would say Motorola support is extra-ordinary. What one can expect under 50$. For all of the reasons, I will definitely buy from them again whenever I will need a spare/ replacement device. You can easily purchase this for your kid, elderly parents or spouse (who is not so mobile enthusiastic).

Simple phone for a simple man
|Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I just need a phone to do simple smart phone things (make calls, text, calendar, camera, and internet on the rare occasion). I don't care about using it to keep me bored in lines or any kind of social media. Heavy usage will drain the battery fast but my intermittent usage gets me 4-5 days before needing a charge. OS takes up about 14 GB and it was wonderful not having all the fluff apps (twitter, facebook, etc.) removed. Main complaint: WHY do 90% of smart phones need to made out of GLASS? No, I will not buy a separate overly priced product to protect this "investment". My old school tablet is made out of stronger stuff. Phone companies, please stop building in forced obsolescence or trying to up sell people.

Q: QuestionCan this moto x works with GSM carriers of other countries?
Asked by Olivia.
- A:Answer Hi Olivia, Thanks for your interest. This phone works in and outside the US but can't guarantee that all carrier features will work outside the US as this phone is a US variant and has a different band. I would suggest contacting your preferred service provider to see if this phone will work with their service. We do not encourage customers buying a phone from a different country as the warranty and compatibility are limited to where it was purchased. -Zeke
