Thanks for reaching out. The eero 6 AX1800 Dual-Band Mesh WI-FI 6 system doesn’t replace your modem, it replaces your router. The first eero plugs into your existing cable or DSL modem. If you have a combination modem/router, you’ll be using that as a modem and disabling the routing function by putting it in bridge mode. I hope this information helps, have a great day!
A:Answerthe other 2 units are basically extenders from the main router. but they can all work off each other. you only need 1 router to feed the house with internet. their signals work well, but they need to be positioned in the right place. plan it out ahead of time and try to get them not to far from each other.
A:AnswerYou can, they all work together as long as your main eeros is plugged directly into the modem, all others are simply added into the family of eeros devices. They work seamlessly.
A:AnswerOnly the base station has ethernet ports; 1 port (as you likely know) to connect to you existing router (to broadcast WiFi) the other port, you can connect to a ethernet device. As you also likely know now, the 2 satellite units have no ethernet ports. However, you can (as I did) purchase another base station (giving you 4 in total units), connect it as a satellite (to your original base station), then it's two ports give you ethernet, at it's location (less expensive than paying someone to pull an ethernet cable). I believe the previous model had ethernet ports on all 3.
A:AnswerIt likely would. You just need to be sure that the points are not too far apart from each other or the mesh network won't work well. But WiFi can normally penetrate standard brick walls, especially if there's a point nearby.
