A:AnswerHi Banuelos - This appliance is designed so that the washer and dryer can be
operated at the same time or you can use only the washer or dryer. Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. It should be connected to a dedicated 240V or 208V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. The power cord is sold separately. Thanks for your interest in GE! Sue
A:AnswerHi Aku - The Dura Drum is a galvanized steel drum that is double coated with tough polyester paint and backed with a stainless steel rear. The drum is not "stain free", but is resistant to stains. The drum is white in color, with the shine, smoothness, and durability of stainless steel in the back of the drum. We’d love to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerHi Maria - Thanks for considering GE Model GUD24ESSMWW! The energy cost of gas and electric dryers depends on local gas and electric rates. For information about the approximate energy cost for a gas and/or electric dryer, we encourage you to contact your local utility company for your rates. Many utility companies may also be able to provide guidance on which would be less expensive to run in your area. We’d love to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

A:AnswerHi Moe,
Since this unit has an electric dryer you would not need a gas line for proper installation. As for the power needed, this unit can run off of 120 volts or 240 volts. This all depends on if you have a 3 or 4 pronged outlet in your home. For more information on power cords and electrical hook ups, take a look at pg. 8 of your installation instructions, which you can see here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-16781-3.pdf - We hope that this helped! Thank you very much for your question. -Michael
A:AnswerHi Jennifer,
You are correct, the top of the unit is going to be bare metal and unpainted. This is normal.
