A:Answer Hello- This is a really good question. We appreciate your interest and are happy to help! We always recommend GE Consumer Service make any repairs during the first year warranty. However, you can rest assured knowing your unit is backed by a 10-year limited warranty on the motor and a 5-year limited warranty on the sealed drying system. If service is needed any trained technician should be able to work on this model. Note: The entire Sealed System Assembly has been designed to be an easy-to-replace system from the top of the unit. The single service part assembly would include the compressor, condenser, evaporator, tubing, and refrigerant preinstalled in the plastic housing. The technician would only need to remove the old assembly and replace it with a new one. This would not require any sealed system work such as brazing or adding refrigerant.
