To answer your question, I haven't tried editing any video recordings of the GoPro Hero 6 myself, but it should be possible to edit the footage in a video editing software such as Vegas Movie Studio 16, Adobe Premiere Elements, etc. and then burn the movie onto a DVD. As far as using the GoPro app is concerned, I don't know for sure as I've never tried to do so myself as I use my GoPro Hero 6 as a webcam for live streaming video games.
