Q: QuestionMy machine doesn’t light up when it’s time to add water. What could be the problem. It’s fairly new and it never worked

• A:Answer If using distilled water the sensor may not detect the water level and you may have to reset the machine. You should use distilled water because any other water still has lime scale and other minerals in it that can clog the lines.

Q: QuestionPurchased from best buy almost a year ago, love it. Worked completely fine until I cleaned it(cleaned based on the manuals instructions). After cleaning it started leaking? The bottom plug is in tight and it’s not wet, leaks from the center, what’s wrong?

Q: QuestionWhat type of ice does this icemaker make? In the photo the ice looks thick with large nuggets. I am looking for Sonic Ice, Is this a match to what I am looking for?

• A:Answer The ice cubes are definitely not thick large nuggets. If you compare them to a "standard" ice cube from your refrigerator, the large ice cubes are about half the size and have a hole in the middle. I have not tried the smaller cube option, but my guess would be closer to the Sonic Ice cube style. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer The picture shows pretty well what the cubes look like. I would call them ice "bullets" rather than nuggets. The ice is fully frozen, not "chewy" or "slushy" like some of the higher end "nugget ice" machines. You will pay a lot more for that type of ice. There are 3 different "size" settings, but I don't honestly have a use for smaller cubes. On the largest setting, where we keep it, the cubes are just a littler larger than the diameter of the mouth of a plastic 20oz pop bottle. Its a nice little machine, and as long as you have realistic expectations, it wi serve you well!

• A:Answer I use a spray bottle mixed with lemon juice and water. Turn machine off and spray the metal nozzles that make the ice. Use a tooth brush to clean real dirty spots. Make sure to empty water.

Q: QuestionJust unboxed the unit and let it sit for an hour and took the tape off. Filled the water up to the line and started it up but after about 5mins, I get alternating ADD WATER and ICE FULL red lights going back and forth. Am I missing something?

• A:Answer This sounds like a malfunction. May want to take it back for a replacement. My “Ice Full” only comes on once the basket is full. And the “Add Water” once it’s completely empty (and you can hear it trying to suck up water). Good luck!

• A:Answer Weekly I spritz a mix of water and 10% bleach. Let sit for a few mins and wipe out with paper towels or microfiber cloths. Monthly i run bleach solution {about 1/2 cup in a liter of water) thru the ice maker disposing of the ice ofc. Then I run a liter of plain water to thoroughly rinse it disposing of the ice. Then its good to go. Mine seems to do fine with it and smells and looks fresh and clean
