- Answer Just return it. This product is of very poor quality... Though if your PC is muting it, you may have other PC issues unrelated to the mic.

- Answer That's an Insignia Microphone for you. Use a third party program to increase the volume of your audio, and add some noise reduction. I'm sorry, but this mic is terrible.

- Answer No, try another port, rear or front on your computer if you have that option, sounds like a defective unit or a weak sound card. Have you tried another mic in that port?
