“What software does it not work with? I want to buy this microphone so I can record things using OBS and Audcity, for school work. I don't need a high quality mic since I'm really doing serious tasks but I would like a microphone better than the on ones I have right now.”

works good with skype and wechat when i talk to friends in china and new zealand

Unless you have a very old laptop, I would stay away from Insignia mics. I just got one to use with audacity. White background noise. I called Insignia. The tech told me that the most recent win op syst. it is compatible with is XP. And this is the reason for the white noise.
