QuestionHow high should the bottom of the microwave be from the cooktop? I'm 5'5' and want to be able to look into the microwave without banging my head on the microwave door when cooking. Also, don't want anything to spill on me when I take it out - too high.

- Answer Mine is 18 inches from cook top. I'm 5'1". I can't see in but that's not really an issue. You don't want it too close to the cook top because of the heat. I would check with the manufacturer.

- Answer Ours was not built into a cabinet - it was installed beneath a cabinet and over a stove - it was done that way because the microwave is larger than the cabinet

- Answer it has a great 6 speed fan controllable on the door it can slow down to quite a low level, so if sound is a worry this unit gives you 6 options, each one quieter than the one prior.

QuestionI just had this microhood installed and there's a thin 2"×3" piece of cardboard clipped inside on the upper ceiling area of the microhoood...is this supposed to be removed?? Also is their aregular manual?

- Answer There should be no paper in the cooking area at all. I would remove it. My unit came with a manual & a laminated cooking reference guide. If you do not have these, I would contact Kitchenaid or go on line to get you manuals.

- Answer If you want a counter top model, they are actually cheaper, more attractive and space efficient and that's what you should be focusing on. Over the range microwaves are only designed for over the range mounting. For starters, the power cord comes out of the top of the cabinet and it's top and sides aren't finished. Not a good look. Plus this beast is nearly 30" wide and will gobble up an awful lot of counter space. Also, as others have said, the bottom mounted exhaust intake and lighting would be rendered useless.

QuestionDo you have any specification sheet to show where the bolt holes are for installing the micro wave. What does the back look like for installing to back wall. We need to install a shelf on the top so we can hang the micro on it as we do not have a cabinet.

- Answer There is a spec sheet that comes with the microwave, There is a bracket you mount on the back wall. The microwave is heavier than other microwaves.

- Answer Yes, as long as you don't need the turntable. The width is about at least 18" even with the rack supports, the depth is over 13" and the height will accommodate 9".
