If you buy this modem, you would also have to purchase a router. If you are paying for a certain speed Mbps for your wi-fi at Xfinity be sure the modem will be able to take that much speed. Otherwise, you are paying for speed that you will never be able to experience (because of the modem) through no fault of Xfinity.
