Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy cannot activate your modem. I purchased this modem for use with TWC and it works fine. You buy the modem, take it home, and connect it. Then you call TWC and tell them you want to use your own hardware. They'll ask you for some numbers that are on the bottom of the modem and also on the box, and then you'll be good to go. Google "use your own modem with twc" (without quotes).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think so. You have to call your cable service with info on your cable account number and specific info on your modem hardware, or possibly they allow you to do it online.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, I would expect Best Buy to not be willing to do so. Getting it hooked up is a simple matter. Call your cable company and tell them that you have a cable modem that you need activated. You will be either starting new service or replacing an existing modem. If you are starting new service and the cable company is coming out to "install" the service, they will activate the modem for you as part of setting up the environment. Otherwise, call the cable company. They will ask you for the "CM MAC" address (which is unique). This is printed on both the box and the modem. Once activated, connect the coaxial cable, plug in the ethernet cable into the proper spot on the router (WAN/Internet port) and you are good to go.
