• A:Answer Bricks are known to block Wi-Fi signals. However, Nest Wifi is equipped with a 4x4 antenna that helps broadcast strong and reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. Although 5GHz bandwidth can transmit relatively strong signals, 2.4GHz bandwidth may be blocked by the brick walls. You may need to put your Spectrum combo in bridge mode or disable its Wi-Fi functionality in order to set up Nest Wifi as your primary router. We then recommend having more than one Nest Wifi router and set one up as your primary router connected to the Spectrum combo, and then hard wire the others as down streams from your primary router. You can then connect the wireless Nest Wifi points to these routers and enjoy them both as Wi-Fi access points and Google Assistant-enabled speakers.

Q: QuestionI live in a 2nd floor condo with a basement. My current router is a Netgear Nighthawk X4S Model R7800. I stream 4 tvs w/Roku sticks and have smart phones, laptops,ipads. Would I get a signal in basement and no buffering on tvs? Spectrum 200 mbps speed.

• A:Answer Nest Wifi works with most modems and modem/router combos including the Surfboard SB6190 cable modem. You may need to setup Surfboard SB6190 cable modem to Bridge mode or disable the Wi-Fi functionality. This will prevent any double NAT connectivity issues on your Wi-Fi network.

• A:Answer You should be fine with two. Even though one can cover the square footage, the number of floors might make for weaker coverage. If you get two and then find that it isn't enough, you can easily by a second satellite and attach it to the router.

• A:Answer Nest Point does NOT have any ports; only a power cable; and a switch for on/off of the speaker (allows "Hey Google" function, like commands and music). The Google version has ports, so can act as router or point; no speaker/mic switch. Size is different in contour/shape, esp. height and width differences, if you are fitting into a specific spot. / I upgraded from Google to Google Nest on the router and just one point; it says compatible, which it is, but how to do this-- no instructions. I ended up online chatting with Nest tech support, as I had to reset all the older Google points to recognize the new Nest Router. It was a pain; slow (Google Points can be slow, but eventually work)... and it disrupted every smart item I had connected; trying to fix, it canceled my subscriptions during some factory resets; everything had to be reconnected by app or by touching the device. Partly my fault, but a huge problem was no How To guide or instruction for the scenario of switching from Google to Google Nest. It just says "compatible". Probably easier when first setting up. A problem when there is a Google mesh already set up. The company in the app, FAQ, on box... should remind you how to factory reset the (older) Google points.
