A:AnswerAs far as I can tell, my setup uses a Panasonic DP-UB820, another HDMI connecting to my LG CX, and then using this cable to connect the LG and my HW-Q90R, and it works great. Lossless as far as I can tell.
A:AnswerI haven't found this yet, but it should be configurable. This is the one UI nuisance I've found, albeit a minor one. The player seems to resume quickly from where you left off when the unit powers down.
A:AnswerThis unit will seperate the sound in accordance to how it was mixed on your CD. I can tell the audio difference between older CDs and the newer ones (before they stopped selling them). Dynamic range? Your qustions all pertain to the receiver that processes your audio. This unit sends the audio just as it is from the CD it's playing.
A:AnswerBased on my experience, yes! I had the X800 player, and am moving that to a different TV, but got the UB820 and it blows it away in terms of PQ. Of course it matters how discerning you are, but it upscales blu-rays way better, and has better sound as well. So in my mind definitely worth it. The photo is from an upscaled blu-ray of Prisoners.
A:AnswerAs I understand it, they're both right. Atmos adds metadata to a True HD bitstream that tells the decoding device where to steer audio elements within the surround sound speaker array. As long as your received is identifying the Atmos metadata, you are probably hearing the Atmos-quality audio.
A:AnswerBoth dvd's and blu ray discs look really good on this player.I have been amazed at how good the picture is. I also have the OPPO-203 and the Panasonic has a better picture. So yes it does upscale both dvd and blu ray.
A:AnswerSame happens to me. I’ve had issues with Batman, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and others. Some say it has to do with Bd-100 discs. Transitioning to different layers on the disc seems to freeze it up. Though I’ve also had freezing with Fast and Furious 5 and 6 and I think those are BD-66. Those movies have two different cuts on the same disc though so I’m sure it’s still a layer change issue.
