A:AnswerHello,
Great question. No, the Ring Alarm Motion Detector (2nd Gen) will not work as a standalone product. The Ring Alarm Motion Detector connects to your Ring Alarm and is designed to monitor a room or area inside your home for heat and movement. When armed, the motion detector will trigger your Ring Alarm when heat and movement are detected.

A:AnswerHi Luggageonline.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. In the Ring app, there are three Modes you can set: Disarmed, Home and Away. In each Mode, you can create specific actions you want your Ring Alarm, Ring Alarm sensors, doorbells, and cameras to do. Using Modes in the Ring app requires a subscription (sold separately).
Doorbells and Cameras: You can choose whether you want these devices to record or not in each Mode. For example, maybe you want only your doorbell to record in Disarmed, only your outdoor cameras to record in Home, and all your cameras to record in Away.
Ring Alarm: No sensors are monitored in Disarmed. In Home or Away, you can set which alarm sensors you want armed and monitored, or not monitored.
If you have enrolled in 24/7 Professional Monitoring, your alarm sensors when armed in any Mode will be monitored by the Rapid Response team. Fire and CO sensors (if connected to Ring Alarm and online) will still be monitored in all Modes. Glass Break Sensor can also be monitored in Disarmed.
In Disarmed Mode: No sensors are armed. Choose if you want to hear Chirp sounds.
In Home or Away Mode: Choose which sensors you want armed, and if you want Chirps, an Entry Delay, and Exit Delay.

A:AnswerI would think so. The thing we like about our Ring Pro system is it can be self monitored when we are away from home. You get sensor trigger notices and you can view all cameras on the system from your phone or tablet.
A:AnswerYes, you can mount with screws, but they are not provided. The portion that adheres to the wall has holes for mounting screws. You will just have to buy them separately at Home Depot or a hardware store.
A:AnswerYes, you will receive notifications when doors are opened. You can always adjust the settings in the app as to how much or how little notifications you receive.
A:AnswerHi dizzy.
Thank you for asking. A Ring base station is required in order to use the Ring Alarm Motion Detector. The Base Station connects all your Ring Alarm security devices, Ring Video Doorbells, Security Cameras, and other smart devices. It monitors your sensors in order to trigger break-in or fire alarms while supporting cellular and battery backup if your internet or power go out.

A:AnswerHello.
Good question. No, the Ring Alarm Contact Sensor is not designed to detect breaking glass. However, Ring Alarm does have a glass break sensor available (sold separately). The Ring Alarm Glass Break sensor monitors glass windows and doors for break-in attempts. Using AI technology, the sensor detects the sound of glass breaking up to 25 feet. Visit our support center for more information.
