I have one set up on the inside sill of a window facing the outside (street) and the video is excellent during the daytime. However the lights on the front of the camera do interact with the glass of the window and the view is obstructed at night. They remain on all the time at night to support recording in night mode, so there is no way to avoid the glare that they produce on the glass of the window at night.

We speak regularly through the cam. I dont know how far one can hear as we have multiple & she lives in a one bedroom apt,, so everywhere is a close radius for us. Good internet is a must.
