Since this device is designed to be hardwired to existing doorbell wires, or a standalone transformer, this Ring Doorbell will not require any additional power sources to operate. A:AnswerRing only ships it out to the stores it said first and then other retailers will get it later so it can be weeks or months until bestbuy carries it. I even contacted ring and bestbuy about this. Really misleading. I cancelled my order and ordered it through amazon. No point of waiting for a fake answer from ring.
A:AnswerHello Mark,
Ring's Video Doorbell Wired does not sound your existing doorbell chime. To hear audio notifications in your home, pair with a Ring Chime, compatible Alexa device, or select the Video Doorbell Wired + Chime bundle.

A:AnswerYou will not be able to use your existing chime with the hard wired ring. It comes with something call a junction it attaches inside your existing chime and disables which ever door you are trying to attach it too. However you have different sounds and one of them that may sound like your existing chime. I’m not sure how the rest of the ring door bells work. I just wanted something that I didn’t have to go with batteries all the time. Also you will have to purchase that doorbell and the chime.

A:AnswerI already have 1 ring doorbell and 1 peephole camera. I asked this question as mine is the 1st generation and you cannot get extra batteries for one that old. I need to know if it is a 2nd or 3rd generation.
A:AnswerHi Beagle,
Thanks for bringing up this concern, as this is a valid question! We design our Ring doorbells, and their compatible components, to provide options to our customers as they see fit for their home environment. One great part about the Ring Chime is that you may relocate the device to different outlets in your home, providing you with an even richer customization of your home security.
The Ring App is designed to notify you of an alert, if you choose to enable these notifications. I love having the feature that allows me to see who is at my door, as well as hearing an alert through my Ring Chime, if I don't have my phone near me at that time.
