A:AnswerIt does not work properly. as my daughter drives her car, it delays the direction. As she drive if she’s supposed to make a right or left turn. It doesn’t saying it till after she passes the location. then it says it. it was a lousy job. I’m disappointed once again at Best Buy, we will be bringing it back to get fixed. She is in college and she has to find a time to fix it. Hopefully they will fix it. This is very dangerous.
A:AnswerIf you purchase this from Best Buy, the installation is free. Just a small tip, if you have steering wheel controls, the wiring is separate. I paid for that at the store.
A:AnswerYes, this unit has dual outputs. It can be wired around the car's amplifier.
This unit has both pre-amp and amplifier (direct to speakers) outputs. My car has a separate amplifier so I use the pre-amp outputs. If your car amplifier went bad, you could wire the amplifier outputs to your speakers, bypassing your car's amplifier. You could run wires from the 4 speaker outputs of the Sony unit to the car's speakers which should all be available at your car's amplifier, then unplug the car's amplifier. The internal amplifier of the Sony unit will then power your speakers.
A:AnswerShould work just buy the correct harnesses for it, my car has bose and found all the right stuff on crutchfield and works wonderful with amp and sub sounds perfect
A:AnswerTo make sure walk in to a Best Buy that installs car stereos ask the technician to look it up on his computer. He also can see what adapters and parts that it would take if indeed it fits your vehicle
A:AnswerNope, even without the controls you still need the connection box to interact with your existing wiring and if running Bose speakers and amp, you must have it.
A:AnswerThe wiring for individual cars can be challenging! There are three important wires for powering this unit.
BAT Yellow
ACC Red
GND Black
The Red wire is what turns on and off the unit.
The Yellow wire keeps the functions such as station assignment in memory. Finding the right wires is always challenging. Either your red wire was connected a +12Vdc source that does not turn on immediately, or the ground is wired to a circuit that doesn't get connected until after a delay. I have found that wiring the RED and Black wires directly to the cigarette lighter/Power Outlet that is only powered when the car is on usually solves the problem. Using the existing car stereo wiring adapter sometimes gives unpredictable results.
