Q: QuestionI just bought this player and it seems fine but for some reason the volume control on the remote does not work. The other buttons work fine. Any thoughts? I have a Panasonic plasma TV.

• A:Answer I cant figure out whether or not this player is region free. I've seen multiple sites reporting both sides. On the bottom of my player is says blu ray discs are region A, so I'm not sure how it would be region free

Q: QuestionSomeone had mentioned that when they removed the Decal that adveritised many of the features on he front panel of this unit, it compromised the finish as perhaps the plastic was two different colors?.Even though many left the decal on, can anyone comment?

• A:Answer No It does not. But you can Buy any player including this one That is region free with a factory warranty but it just cost more This particuler model is Twice as much. Just Googe the Model Number with "region free"at the end. Only Various Companys sell region free Players But they are available. So Google SONY BDP 6700 Region free and thats it....$200

Q: QuestionConnects OK to the TV with good sound. When I switch to my amplifier, display says OK, but NO sound. Can I use a splitter, HDMI to 2 female HDMI, 1 to TV, and then adapter from HDMI to speaker input cables? Could this overload or not work well?

• A:Answer The way I have mine hooked up is HDMI cable from bluray to TV. I then run 2 RCA cables from the TV's audio out to my receiver. I wound not hook it up the way you described, I think that may cause you a problem.

• A:Answer Not sure, but in my opinion worth a try. You’re not streaming through the TV, you’re streaming through the DVD player and then playing the DVD content which it receives from streaming on your tv. DVDs are also digital media, so if they play on your TV I don’t know why the stream is produced by the DVD player would not. just make sure to test it during the return. So that if it doesn’t work for you you can take the DVD player back.

• A:Answer It depends on how your current speakers are connected. The only output on this player is an HDMI port. I have mine connected to an AV receiver which is connected to 7 speakers and the sound quality is excellent. You need some sort of interface between the DVD player and your speakers. I presume you have something now, that allows the current speakers to connect to your DVD player.

• A:Answer Probably. Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi. This player will connect to a Wi-Fi signal, the question is whether your phone hotspot would provide enough bandwidth. If you get it, make sure to try it out while you still have the ability to return it if it doesn’t work for you.
