- A: AnswerThe Samsung 970 EVO will work with the Dell XPS 8900, and it will still be faster than a SATA based drive, but it will not run at full speed. The Dell XPS 8900 does have an NVME M.2 slot. However, according to the spec, it's only got an x1 PCI-e 3.0 lane. Newer motherboards have 4 PCI-e lanes, and the drive is designed to take advantage of the faster throughput. The motherboard in the Dell XPS8900 will only be able to talk to the drive at the maximum speed of one lane, 985 MB/s, so you won't get the full speeds advertised for the drive. However, it will still be faster than the max speed of a SATA port, 600MB/s. Bottom line, get it, you'll be happy with it, but go in knowing that you won't get the speeds Samsung advertises while you're using it in the 8900.

Q: QuestionIs this compatible with the upcoming PS5?(2 answers)
A: AnswerHi Dan, You can check with the below article for more information. https://bgr.com/2020/09/22/ps5-ssd-storage-samsung-980-pro-external-ssd-price-capacity-official/ "As Sony explained on stage several months ago, the external drives will have to match the 5.5GB/s speed of the internal storage, which means you’ll need PCIe 4.0 drives that aren’t widely available yet." The Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 SSD is not a PCIe 4.0 drive, but the new 980 series should be compatible. Hope this helps. Best, KevinHAnswered by KevinH1120

Fast, reliable, performance!
The Samsung 970 EVO Plus is an outstanding M.2 SSD. Its NVMe technology ensures lightning-fast read and write speeds, making it perfect for gaming, content creation, and productivity tasks. The range of capacities caters to different storage needs, and Samsung's reputation for reliability adds peace of mind. While newer models have been released since its launch, the 970 EVO Plus still holds its own as a reliable and high-performing SSD option. 10/10 recommend! I have 5, 2 of them are 3 years old and still solid performers in 2 of my laptops. The other 2 are in my gaming rig and 1 in gfs rig!

Great !
recently made a thoughtful purchase to enhance my new PC build – a cutting-edge NVMe M.2 drive. The installation process was remarkably straightforward, provided you were well-acquainted with your motherboard's layout and knew precisely where to place it. This drive proved to be an excellent choice, offering an array of storage options that cater to various needs. Personally, I opted for the 1 TB variant, which I believe strikes an ideal balance between storage capacity and speed for gaming enthusiasts who often have 8 or more large games simultaneously installed. The transition to NVMe M.2 drives from conventional SATA options has been a game-changer for me. Not only do they offer blazing fast speeds, but the ease of installation is a major plus. You no longer need to contend with cumbersome data and power cables; instead, you simply slide the M.2 drive into its designated slot on the motherboard. This not only simplifies the setup process but also ensures a cleaner and more efficient cable management system within your PC. Overall, my decision to opt for this NVMe M.2 drive has significantly enhanced the performance and storage capacity of my new PC build. It's a testament to the ever-evolving technology in the realm of computing, and I would highly recommend considering such drives for anyone looking to upgrade their system and streamline their gaming experience.
