Great single solution (almost) lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A very good lens. It's OSS is phenomenal. It just can't be used with the built-in flash because it's big enough to cast a shadow. So if flash might be needed on a photographic excursion one has to also carry the 16-50 kit lens. But flash is seldom wanted, anyway. At 18mm there is some distortion, but going up just a few mm makes it better while retaining f/3.5. OSS wise, I've shot fairly sharp pictures at 200mm and 1/15 second, hand held! Two pictures, both taken at 200mm and cropped/resized to 1620x1080, are attached. The moon shot is the sharpest I've ever got.

Great Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very satisfied with this lens. Recently shot a wedding, and a few other shots being a newer photographer. I really enjoy this lens replacing the kit 55-210mm. Not 100% as sharp as I would like but it's a minimal complaint. I have been able to capture some pretty decent shots, even as a novice. It might be slightly on the more expensive side, but again, starting out it is worth it. Makes learning a lot more easy.

A nice replacement for multiple zoom lenses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this lens for a trip to Morocco. Though it was pricey at $800, it was worth the investment. Having this 18-200mm zoom meant that I could replace the 16-50mm and 55-210mm zooms that I used previously with my Sony NEX-6. This not only saved weight and space, but I no longer had to change lenses and then deal with the resulting dust issues on the camera sensor. In terms of quality, my photos appear to be uniformly sharp at both the center and in the corners of the images. I am completely satisfied with this new Sony lens.

A great complement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i tried the kit lens with the Sony Nex-5 and SEL1855. Loved it. Upgraded to an A5100 with the SEL1650. I liked the camera but found the kit lens lacking (especially at the widest settings). So, I tried the the SEL55210. I loved the lightness and image quality from this other kit lens. However, I found myself having to change lenses frequently. So, I opted for the SEL18200LE. Image quality is great, much lighter than the SELP18200 or original SEL18200. Those just add so much bulk to the camera. With this lens, I can really play with depth of field in my pictures. The photos have been great.

Great lens with minor flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent 2 months trying to figure out if I wanted to shell out the cash for this lens. I committed when I had to take a trip and didn't want to carry 2 different lenses. The lens did not disappoint. I have had it for 2months now and I still love it. The wide range is perfect for a variety of shots and alleviates the need for carrying additional products. The downside as mentioned in other reviews is the "creep". The lens will open if camera is pointing down(gravity always wins) but this can fixed by hitting the "lock" button on the lens. The zoom seems a bit stiff but I don't mind that because it makes it easier to adjust in small increments when taking pics.

I really love this lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this actually is a replacement. I bought one before. I love how it, along with the camera, are so small and fit into a carry on bag on the plane. I took it traveling to many different countries. The range of the zoom is what really sells it. You only need this one lens for wide angle shots as well as telephoto ones. The quality of the shots is excellent. Unfortunately I dropped and broke my lens, so I immediately replaced it with a new one.

Fantastic all purpose lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wide angle to zoom range is fantastic for my needs. Great or event photography where you sometimes have to zoom a bit to get a candid. Also good for outdoor. The lens feels sturdy and high quality. Auto focus is quick and quiet. I wish it was a little faster than f3.5 but I don't want to pay the money for that. It's bigger and heavier than the camera but the combination is pretty powerful.

Q: QuestionDoes it feel "heavy" with the Sony A6000? I'd like to be able to use just one lens for travel.
Asked by PLT.
- A:Answer It is definitely heavier than the "kit" lense but not too heavy. I got the lense for travel with my a6000 as well and I am not disappointed. One lense for all shots. It's worth it.

Asked by Elliott.
- A:Answer Hi Elliot, the SEL18200 is the first version (silver color) while the SEL18200LE is the compact version (black color). Hope this helps. Regards, Zander
