Dual Band WiFi 7 - Just know what you're getting
I recently switched from a Linksys mesh network to this TP Link BE5000 mesh system and have no regrets at all. I just have a handful of WiFi 7 devices but the performance is great when compared to my previous network. This mesh system is basically an entry to WiFi 7 because it is Dual Band and not Tri or Quad. Now Wifi 7 CAN and does enhance the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands but is missing the 6Ghz band to fully take advantage of its speed. In the box is a pretty straight forward presentation of 3 modules with their power bricks, 1 single ethernet cable and a simple set up guide. Basically scan a QR code or download the Deco App. Setup was super easy and soooo much smoother than my previous system. Once I got the primary node up and running you just basically put the other 2 where you want in range and plug them in. They paired with no additional steps or anything. I love it. Range is great and reaches a few houses down from me before it disconnects. I have no problems getting my 1900 sq ft house 100% covered including the garage and surrounding yards. All my outdoor cameras show full signal strength and my garage door opener has no issues as well unlike my last mesh system. I am using 14 cams from different brands, multiple PCs and consoles and a ton of smaller things like plugs, locks etc and the BE5000 doesn't even break a sweat. I am using G Fiber Gigabit and the speeds are as advertised when hardwired. Setting up a home network was super simple in app and there is also the option of creating a Guest Wifi account. I have all my devices using the primary WiFi and my roommate is using the Guest. I like how you can also use 1 band or both by a simple button click. Need only 2.4? Done. Want both? Easy. I personally like this TP Link system a lot for my personal needs, but if you are really wanting to take advantage of WiFi 7 speeds, I recommend looking for a system with the 6ghz band.
