Eero 7 Mesh Wi-Fi Upgrade Totally Worth It

I just bought the eero 7 Dual-band Mesh Wi-Fi router and honestly, it’s been great so far. Setup was super easy just used the eero app and had it running in about 10 minutes. The signal is strong all through the house now, even in spots where my old router never reached. Everything loads faster, and streaming or video calls don’t lag anymore, which is a huge plus. I like how small and clean it looks too. it doesn’t take up much space and fits right in with my home setup. The app is really simple to use and lets me see what devices are connected or pause Wi-Fi for the kids when needed. Overall, it’s definitely worth it if you’re looking to upgrade your home internet and want something easy that just works.

From someone who normally prefers Asus or Orbi mesh systems. I have to say that the eero is wayy better in terms of navigation, setting up and simplicity. I've also seemed to have better range on this then the Asus system and no latency issues when gaming or streaming!!!! I absolutely love this and could recommend this to anyone new to mesh systems or want to try it!!! It also goes well through thick drywall!!!! I have one in main room and bedroom!!! Reaches everywhere with no drops

I was having some trouble with dead spots. One particularly was a real problem because Internet speeds via Wi-Fi dropped between 100 and 200 mbps in the corner where my wife works. I only sit 10 feet away and I’m getting between 450 and 650 mbps. I bought the three pack, got rid of my Spectrum router installed these, one at the modem, one tighten via ethernet cable right next to my wife’s desk and one at my desk connected via Wi-Fi. I’m hardwired in and I’m getting around 930 now and my wife is also getting around 930 mbps. The attached screenshot shows the speed at the modem. We’re not losing much. Additionally, my nephew is getting around 800 in his room and we’re getting over 400 mbps and the furthest area away from the modem, in our master bathroom. Huge improvement from where we were when we were using the Spectrum router. Highly recommended!

The 3 EERO PODS replaced 4 Google pods and with much better coverage. My outdoor irrigation timer was not being covered by Google, but the EERO system reaches it with ease and response time is much faster too. My home is 3000sq. ft. I have need for coverage for the full width of house (90 ft) as the bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house as the garage where the irrigation timer is located.

It was very easy to set up, but the coverage from my ATT Fiber router is pretty similar to this MESH, which makes it a poor choice. The dropping of internet from 15-20' away from both the central router and and hardwired expander is frustrating. Also we lost the ability to find dead spots inthe network when we dumped the ATT direct Router. It was NOT cheap, so my expectations were higher. It should be better than the basic BWG320 ATT Fiber basic router.

Hi Mgjackson07. Thank you for reaching out about your experience with the eero 7 system. I’m sorry to hear about your coverage issues. Strategically placing your eeros is the single most important step you can take to ensure your system provides fast, reliable WiFi to every room in your home. Here are some tips to follow: 1. Place eeros where they can talk to each other. 2. Place eeros on a hard, flat surface. 3. Keep your eeros out in the open. 4. Whenever possible, aim for direct line of sight between eeros. The fewer the walls between your eeros, the better. If this information doesn’t resolve your issue, call eero customer service at (877) 659-2347. They’re available Monday-Sunday 6am-8pm PT. I hope this helps. Have a great day! AmazonDevices

The eero 7 mesh system is super easy to set up using the app and gives strong coverage for large homes (up to 6,000 sq. ft). Speeds are solid for most uses, and the dual 2.5GbE ports are a nice touch. It also supports smart home standards like Matter and Thread. However, it’s dual-band only — no 6GHz support — so it’s not as fast as higher-end Wi-Fi 7 systems. Some advanced features like parental controls require a subscription. Still, for the price, it’s a great option for reliable whole-home Wi-Fi.

First thoughts on Eero router system

The Eero system has some surprises. First, some of the features are only available on a subscription basis. Second, the app interface is maybe not something you want if you are experienced working with routers. Third, the wired ports are very limited, so for example, on the $599.00 Eero router I have, there are four wired ports: 2x10 and 2x2.5; if you need more 10g ports, you'll just have to buy a 10 switch...$$$$ So there are some real issues. On the other hand, I have two units in place for two months; they are performing well, they look nice. HOWEVER: the bottom line is these are really, really expensive and for the money one needs to do a lot of research to see if they will match your particular needs or expectations. FYI: they do offer what looks like a nice POE switch.

We purchased two sets of three for our church. It was very much in need of an update. Setting up the eero system was a snap and our Wifi range now reaches every corner of the building. I have had a eero mesh system my house now for almost three years. One of the best technical invests I have made.

We finally realized our 2016 TV was technologically outdated. We only watch 4 TV stations and could only get them on higher level, expensive Cox TV. Plus we could not stream without constant buffering interruptions. So we went to Best Buy (they install and remove old TV; we are in our 80s and physically could not). The salesman and later his supervisor were excellent, informative and NOT pushy. We were there for 90 to 120 minutes. This router was recommended versus the Cox router. The past couple of weeks have been wonderful viewing pleasure. We can even stream our favorite TV programs and saving a large Cox TV bill that was much largest than their internet bill.

Setup is a breeze and only takes you a few minutes. It took me longer to decide where to put them in my house than the setup. As advertised, I have a strong wifi signal all throughout the house. I would have easily given this 5 stars were it not for the fact that the router/nodes only have 2 ports. This means the gateway thats needs to be hardwired to the modem only has 1 free node. Eero, please add more. That and my internet keeps disconnecting. Otherwise, awesome.

Hi AlexC. Thank you for providing feedback about your experience with the eero 7 system. Most eeros have two Ethernet ports. There are two eeros with more ports, the eero Max 7 (4 ports) and the eero PoE Gateway (10 ports). If you'd like to add additional Ethernet ports, you will need an Ethernet switch. Most unmanaged Ethernet switches work with eero, so feel free to use any to your liking. With that said, ensure you select a switch that fits the requirements of your internet service speeds. I hope this information helps. Have a great day! AmazonDevices
