Tech support was helpful but it took nearly 1.6 hours for them to a)find my code after attempting to redeem it 3 days after purchase. I was transferred to their "account management" line and they said they saw "my purchase but needed to find someone in tech support who could work with me in redeeming this code/getting the service I paid for." Kind of ridiculous it took me almost 2 hours just to get someone on the line who could start the service I had purchased. It would've been better if I just went to the store and left my computer with them like I had the last time. As others have said above, if you have the time and patience to wait around on the phone for 1-2 hours, then this is a worthy service but my time is valuable to me and there are other things I'd rather be doing than waiting around to redeem a purchase I'd already completed days ago.

My computer was giving me pop-ups that were causing issues, it was running very slow and my machine was becoming 25% fragmented in two-three days. All stressful things to someone who depends on it for their work.
I searched the Best Buy computer tune up and after reading the price, reviews, etc. purchased it. I had my one day off, so wanted to take this order number, activation number and get it looked at as soon as possible. It took two hours and six sales associates to get this resolved. It seems that they can redeem it if you purchase it and want to use it in the future, but not if you want if done right after purchasing.
Each associate wanted the same information, some wanted me to purchase it and I had to maintain composure and tell them it was already bought and I needed the Geek Squad code to get it on their agenda to fix. It took the sixth associate to finally say that he would stay with me till a Geek Squad person started the tuneup.
That all said, the final results were wonderful! My machine runs very smooth, the messages, pop ups have stopped and in two weeks it has not needed any defragging. So it was totally worthwhile for me. Very worth the $50.00.
The downside is a person with less patience could become very irritated over the service. It was not the attitude of the sales associate, each one was very pleasant. My only criticism would be that two of them (33%) did not speak clear English. I am pleased that they were apparently bilingual, but not good for people who are only English speaking. This is a company situation and I would encourage them to only put people in this position who can do any language (even the native one associated with the US) in a clear, easy to understand voice.
If you have patience this could be a great service. Stick to your guns!
A sales associate might not be actively listening and want to sell you something you already purchased (see other reviews for examples of this).

"30-day money-back guarantee" Misleading

I am a long-time customer of Best Buy who spends thousands of dollars a year there, so unfortunately, I trusted the guarantee. Nothing is guaranteed. My computer is worse than before and don't believe they performed all tasks on the list. They certainly couldn't support that the tasks were performed in my phone conversations. I was disappointed, bought a new computer and attempted to get a refund.
I was told the guarantee means they "stand by the work that they did" so there would be no refund regardless of the benign or negative impact of their work. Not sure the value of that if my computer is worse than before. I asked what the "money-back guarantee" means and they offered to work on my computer again. I asked several times what the money-back guarantee meant and they said they would look into it/investigate this case and email me with 48 hours.
If they aren't sure what "money-back" means, you shouldn't be either. At best it seems misleading, at worst dishonest.

Kept getting "branding configuration" error window and internet explorer has stopped working.Start up was slow and so on.So I opened a chat to inquire about the service and they did it immediately and an hour later....VOILA!!!!! best money I've spent and both agents were friendly and completely knowledgeable . PC is like new again.Once again Geek squad has come through.Thanks

I have been a loyal Best Buy customer, but that has ended. I was having random shut downs with my laptop, contacted the geek squad via remote repair/tune-up. My computer was remotly controlled by the tech. and after 7 hours+ I noticed nothing happening, and no reply from the agent?? I called questioning the lack of anything- was told to bring my laptop to the store, not being told that I needed an appt for the Geeks- The next day another 1+ waiting only to find they cant do anything regarding my remote session?? 2+ hours later... Home again- long storey short after another 3hrs of calls and being on terminal hold, I demanded a refund- put on hold again, and was told in a short snippy way- my refund should be posted to my account in 5-7 days... Beyond Poor Customer Service.

Service was convenient, but did not completely solve the problem of why my hard drive memory was almost full with only a few programs. I was also double billed for the service and it was very difficult to contact anyone at Best Buy/Geek Squad to get a refund, which is still pending.

This was purchased for my wifes birthday to clean up her pc. If there was an experation date on the offer, best buy and my self were unable to find it. Why didn't the GEEK honor their offer. Why didn't best buy honor the geeks offer?
