A: In order to use the front doorbell it needs to be connected to the wired 2 lead wire set that runs back to your chime system. There is no fitting on the front doorbell that would allow you to connect it it. The Solar panel is only for external camera use. It also must be placed where you have more than a couple of hours of sun per day otherwise it ill not charge effectively.
Q: Do you need to purchase one solar panel for each camera?
A: Each panel supports one camera.
A: this panel uses micro usb to charge the ring cameras. this will only work if the camera in question uses micro usb. I know older drop cams are not rated for outdoor. this will only work if you camera has a female micro usb port as it source of charging. the other issue will be keeping water or moisture out of the port on other brands. the way the ring panel has a cover over the port might not work for others.
A: The cord it comes with is pretty long, at least 10 feet. Radio shack did sell the extender, but they are closed and you have to electrical tape the connection if it is open to the elements.
Q: can this go on top of your roof
A: Yes it can but it is not necessary. as long as it get a couple of hours of sun - it should work fine.
Q: Can you use this to charge other electronics? Like a tablet? Thank you
A: Yes, It comes with a mini USB for android end. I tested it with a Samsung 7 phone and it charged it.
Q: Will this panel power the floodlight cam?
A: I don't think so. I believe the floodlight cam is intended to be hard wired to power. You may wish to go to Ring.com and ask in their chat room.
