I wouldn't do that. This is the size of a paperback book. On the side of the house is perfectly fine. Risking your life to put something this small on your roof is not worth it.

Never a good idea to drill unneeded holes in your roof. But yes, I'm sure you could.

this cam mount to any surface. just keep in mind the cord length to the camera could affect placement. best option is to mount next to camera and point up
