Miracle Worker on Pet Stains
|Posted .My wife & I share our 5,000 square foot home with 3) adult rescued cats & 1) bird. One cat is senior & another has sensitive stomach. Between the 2, we are guaranteed to have a mess to clean up every night. We had 2) today. Until now, we would bring out the large steam cleaner every time, and depending on which of the 3) floors is involved, this meant carrying the 20+ # steamer up or down the stairs. My wife & I are both Seniors, so this is a real burden. Spot cleaning has not worked in the past, and has set stains more often than make them disappear. Neither of us had high expectations for the Bissell Pet Stain Eraser - simply because we have been cleaning up the difficult way for so long, we did not believe a simpler way existed. Thankfully, we were wrong!! I removed the Pet Stain Eraser from the box, and within an hour, a cat obliged us with an opportunity to use it! It was a "Here goes nothing" moment. Filled it with the included bottle of BISSELL® Professional Spot & Stain + Oxy Formula - Portable Cleaners. Plugged in the power supply & waited for the 3 blue bars. We turned it on, pressed the fluid spray on the target & rubbed it with the brush. The stain disappeared! Figured it might reappear in the morning. It didn't - in fact, it looked even better & was completely gone! See the 2) Before & After photos that show the results! Next we tried an old area rug that had more pet stains than we could count - and some have been on it for 10 years! The steamer had not removed the stains, but had sanitized the rug. We applied the same technique described earlier, and the rug came out looking new. Waited 3 days later before reporting this - it STILL looks new!! This sold us!! This little tool is a Miracle Worker on Pet Stains!! Tonight I bought several 32 ounce BISSELL® Professional Spot & Stain + Oxy Formula - Portable Cleaners because we have already used up the 2) 6 ounce bottles that were included. Here are detailed observations: LIKES: 1- Lightweight 2- Removable fill tank, "dirty" tank & brush 3- Inexpensive (compared to a strong steamer, especially) 4- Small; easy to store 5- Attractive product 6- Lithium-iON Battery holds a charge for 15 minutes - more than enough to erase a number of stains 7- 4 Hour charging time 8- Easy to use 9- Fast! Clean-up takes 2 minutes, start to finish 10- IT REALLY WORKS!! DISLIKES: 1- Would pay extra for a holster to hang it on the wall; this is a tool that has to sit around or be placed in a drawer. We use it daily; a wall holster would be so handy. CONCLUSION: The Bissell Pet Stain Eraser REALLY WORKS!! It earned my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

Fantastic tool for small messes!
|Posted .Living in a house with both a dachshund, a breed of dog notorious for their selective housetraining, and a cat who as she gets older has begun to express her displeasure through urine I've gotten a fair amount of experience cleaning up accidents the old fashioned way. When I saw that someone had actually built a device for the task, I was cautiously optimistic. The best I was really expecting was something that might save me on paper towels. As it turns out, I was wrong. Not only does it save you on paper towels, it's faster and more effective than the traditional method of using a spray bottle and a stiff brush. The instructions are very simple. You turn it on, pull the trigger to spray a thin sheet of cleaning solution onto the carpet, use the built in brush to work it into the fibers a bit (They deserve extra points for the design of that, by the way, as the brush lets you use the weight of the unit to give you a bit of extra oomph to the scrubbing) and then pull the vacuum back and watch as it sucks up all the cleaning solution and brings the mess with it. I've tested it on urine, vomit, spilled makeup, and just plain dirt that had been tracked into the carpet, and it handled all of them, even on stains that were months old. I don't think I could have gotten any better results with a carpet cleaner. That said, it should be pointed out that this is definitely a small appliance for small messes. The battery lasts about as long as it takes to empty the onboard tank for cleaning solution, and that tank is not very big. I emptied it out in the space of an afternoon helping a friend clean out their carpet after they moved. Also cleanup can be a little tricky at times, as the thing tends to suck up a fair bit of fur and hair as well which can get caught in the drain or the intakes. But all in all, you still spend much less time with it than you would with traditional methods, and it's certainly cheaper than a full size carpet shampooer! I'd recommend this to anyone going through housetraining without reservation.

what a time saver this is!!
|Posted .I have three dogs, one of which is old and she pees in the house quite often, and I have a toddler and a 10 month old who likes to spit up everywhere. Before I got this I would have to drag out my full size carpet cleaner, unwind the cord, plug it in and then do the reverse to put it away. This little bissell is a time saver! Now I can just grab this little guy and hit the spot on the carpet nearly right after the mess hits the floor, either by the dog or the baby and just like that its gone....like it never happened. It really is an eraser as it's name implies. When I first got this I think my dog noticed the box and wanted me to try it out. No sooner than I had it unhooked from the (about 4 hour) charger did she decide to go potty on the carpet. I quickly swooped into action by grabbing the bissell and heading to the spot on the carpet. I powered it on and immediatly it sucked up the liquid, then I sprayed some of the included oxy pet treatment (that is pre-mixed by the way) and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I sucked it all up and watched the liquid move up the clear suction path. This thing has been working overtime too. I have cleaned up no less then 10 different spots, mostly from the baby spitting up and the charge still says its full. No worries about it running out soon either, it simply shows no sign of slowing down. Clean up is a breeze as well. You can pull the tank out, remove the clear liquid path where it sucks up the mess, remove the catch tank underneath, but you do have to hold that a certain way so it won't leak out, and also you can remove the stiff bristles with a quick release tab. I am very impressed with this little guy, I almost can't wait for the next mess to clean up...almost.

A Well-Designed Handheld Stain Extractor
|Posted .The description of this device is misleading - it isn't really a "Bagless Cordless Hand Vac" - it is surely bagless and cordless but it is more of a small upholstery cleaner than a vacuum - it sprays a cleaning liquid onto a carpet or fabric and then extracts the dirty fluid (and the stain). Just like my larger Bissell upholstery cleaner, it has separate containers for clean and dirty fluids - but the smaller size makes it VERY convenient for smaller spills and stains. And although Bissell is advertising this unit as a "Pet Stain Eraser," the capacity of the reservoir for extracted fluid probably wouldn't suffice for a urine stain from a larger dog (that's why I got the larger Bissell a while back). But the design on this smaller Bissell is great - most importantly it is incredibly easy to dismantle and clean. It charges quickly and extracts fluids very efficiently. The only thing I dislike about the unit is that it sprays the cleaning fluid from the top of the device rather than from below (I would have preferred that the cleaning spray be directed closer to the point of extraction). I'm also not fond of Bissell hawking its "premixed cleaning formula to reduce setup time" - mixing concentrated cleaner with water isn't something that is normally eating away at my time - surely Bissell will be making a killing on the markup for their premixed solutions. I will admit, though, that the cleaning solution that came with this device has a pleasant scent that leaves fabric smelling clean but not perfumed - but I would prefer to purchase it as a concentrate. Again: I guess this Bissell could be used as a small handheld vacuum but it is not designed to extract dirt and dust without soaking it in liquid first (the collection chamber is not designed so that you can empty solid dirt from it). This is a very useful handheld upholstery cleaner and it works quite well as such.

It Really Works!
|Posted .The same day that my Bissell Pet Stain Eraser Handheld Deep Cleaner arrived, my dog was kind enough to give me a reason to use it. My dog has a sensitive stomach and if she eats anything other than her dog food she gets sick and has really gross stool. The Bissell got put to the test right out of the box without charging it first and it didn't disappoint. It was super easy to use. Just put in the provided cleaning solution (no mixing necessary), turn it on, push a button to spray the stain then suction it away. Pretreating is recommended for heavy stains like the one I dealt with. My carpet is 11 years old, builder grade, no stain repellent on it. No problem for the Pet Stain Eraser. The battery will allow the Bissell to operate for about five minutes before it needs to be recharged. Plenty of time to get your stain out. It has a scrubbing brush on the bottom that helps get the stain out. The brush is removable for cleaning. It comes with a charging cord and two bottles of pet stain removal solution. Even though it is marketed as a pet stain removal tool, it is good for any kind of stain and can be used on carpets, rugs, furniture, cars, etc. Super handy item that I highly recommend.

Great cleaning utensil!
||Posted .This is a super lightweight and extremely easy to use cleaner. I know it says pet stain remover but I actually purchased it for the car and it works wonder. You also don't have to add water! It doesn't get any easier than this!

I'm impressed
|Posted .This review is for the Bissel Pet Stain Eraser. Please forgive me if I get a little graphic in my description of what I used the Eraser to clean up, but I need to so that you can have a thorough understanding of how effective this little machine is. First, it came boxed up very well so that all the parts were safe and secure inside the box. The model I got comes standard with a brush and two bottles of Bissel’s stain remover. I think there is another model that comes standard with the brush and an attachment for cleaning windows which, of course, is slightly more expensive. That attachment is like a little “squeegee” with a sponge on the other side that is used to scrub the widow before removing the cleaning solution, sort of like cleaning a car windshield. I have three cats and the female who is 14 years old is part Maine Coon and part long hair mixed. She gets fur balls from cleaning her beautiful, long fur and occasionally vomits wherever she happens to be. That usually is on a carpet somewhere in the house. The other day she had eaten a whole pile of cat crunchies and later after the crunchies had partially digested, she vomited on our downstairs carpet. It consisted of two piles of tan, semi-digested crunchies on a light blue carpet. It apparently had been there for a few hours before I discovered it, so the liquid portion had plenty of time to soak into the carpet. I went and got the Pet Stain Eraser, some paper towels, and a plastic bag. I cleaned off the solids with the towels and soaked up some of the fluid as well. Now I was ready to really clean the spots. Normally I would have sprayed a retail carpet spot remover from the grocery store and let it sit for five minutes. Then I would have taken a damp sponge and rubbed and rubbed, rewet the sponge and then do it all again 3 or 4 times and finally hope that when it all dried it would look OK. I don’t think I have ever been able to get a stain out completely. The Bissel Pet Stain eraser is cordless. It takes a few hours to charge it up initially which I did immediately after removing it from the box. There is a light gauge which enables you to monitor the remaining power and when it’s fully charged. The directions which came with it are very easy to follow, providing a precise, step by step order from charging to cleanup. There is nothing to have to “put together”; it is fully assembled. There is a small tank under the handle which holds the cleaning solution which you must fill. A trigger under the handle enables you to spray the solution on the stain. You wait five minutes and then turn on the vacuum. You apply moderate pressure while pulling the front of the machine over the stain to suck out the cleaning solution. It works pretty much the same way a large commercial cleaner would do. What I really liked about it is the small holes in the nozzle which enable the vacuum to really concentrate the pulling force. The vacuum provides very adequate suction and it does the trick for sure. When done you dump out the dirty water by removing the tank underneath and then run clean water to clean it and put it back on. You take the nozzle off, rinse it out and replace it. Refill the solution tank, then plug the charger in so it is ready for the next job. I think it took me 15 minutes to clean up the basement stain and maybe 5 minutes to clean the Eraser. I think the charge would last at least 20-25 minutes before needing recharged. That doesn’t seem like very long, but the vacuum is really applying suction at a strained pace. It is far more stress than a normal vacuuming job. The Eraser does what it was designed to do. It eliminated the stain created by the semi-digested cat crunches. I have no doubt it would also work on a coffee stain. I am impressed with the quality of this device and the Bissel cleaning formula. The Pet Stain Eraser can do what I had never been able to do without a commercial cleaner or even a stand-up home carpet cleaner. There is no cord to get in the way; it is ready to go when I need it; it saves me a lot of time and energy; and it does a great job. I give this product five stars. If you have ever had to clean any stains on your carpets or furniture (it would be difficult to use a big carpet cleaner on a sofa or chair) you should own this machine and experience how effective it is.

Handy But Limited
|Posted .The Bissell Pet Stain Eraser Bagless Cordless Hand Vac is a handy little thing but lacks the power of larger units. The small size and easy portability make it ideal for quickly cleaning small messes. Unfortunately, it just doesn't have the power to thoroughly clean larger messes or fully suck liquids from a carpet. It works great for small spills and accidents that you address immediately. Just know that it can't handle larger jobs or something that has set in. For the price, it's a good deal and does a good job. If you need to clean heavy-duty stains, you'll need to spend more money for one of Bissell's more muscular cleaners. But this little guy does a good job and should be your first line of defense for everyday messes.

Q: QuestionIs there any reviews on this item? Is this a new product? Does your Newark Ohio store have this ?
Asked by John.
- A:Answer Here's my review on this item. It's the miracle of the century for pet owners... Accidents happen. All pet owners know that. Last week, I got a call from my son letting me know that one of our dogs had had diarrhea all over our silver gray (very light) carpet. Compounding the problem, was that apparently at least one other dog had run through it. My son was convinced that the carpet was surely ruined. It was a Saturday night, so there was no way I was going to be able to get someone in to clean the carpet professionally for at least a few days. Further, according to my son, the carpet reeked.... When I got home, it was worse than I could have imagined. I didn't think even a professional cleaning would be able to save the carpet. To my utter amazement, this machine, used with Bissell Pet Odor and Stain Remover (in the detergent tank) COMPLETELY removed everything. It was truly like magic. I could not believe my eyes. I highly recommend this machine. There was no discoloration to the carpet, which is a miracle in itself. There was no unpleasant odor, once the odor cleared from the room. Just to confirm, I sniffed the carpet close up, and it smells fine. This is something every pet owner should have.

Q: QuestionHow does this compare to the SpotBot? ( besides one being plug in and one being cordless)
Asked by GMa.
- A:Answer The SpotBot allows for hands-free spot cleaning and the Pet Stain Eraser is a handheld spot cleaner. They are very different designs, but both deliver cleaning formula deep into carpet fibers to permanently remove pet stains and odors.

Q: QuestionHow much water and how much solution does it hold?
Asked by Joansy.
- A:Answer 8 fl oz. The unit comes with two sample bottles of solution, these are 8 ozs. I suggest keeping the bottles and filling them from a larger container to ensure the right amount every time.

Q: QuestionCan it be used above your head, as with cleaning a car headliner? The unit would be upside down
Asked by Trav.
- A:Answer Yes it will function above your head; however, the cleaning power (brushes don’t spin) and suction should detour you from purchasing this item. Also, the battery life is very short so using it for anything more than a puppy’s accident is impractical.
