Here's my review on this item. It's the miracle of the century for pet owners... Accidents happen. All pet owners know that. Last week, I got a call from my son letting me know that one of our dogs had had diarrhea all over our silver gray (very light) carpet. Compounding the problem, was that apparently at least one other dog had run through it. My son was convinced that the carpet was surely ruined. It was a Saturday night, so there was no way I was going to be able to get someone in to clean the carpet professionally for at least a few days. Further, according to my son, the carpet reeked.... When I got home, it was worse than I could have imagined. I didn't think even a professional cleaning would be able to save the carpet. To my utter amazement, this machine, used with Bissell Pet Odor and Stain Remover (in the detergent tank) COMPLETELY removed everything. It was truly like magic. I could not believe my eyes. I highly recommend this machine. There was no discoloration to the carpet, which is a miracle in itself. There was no unpleasant odor, once the odor cleared from the room. Just to confirm, I sniffed the carpet close up, and it smells fine. This is something every pet owner should have.
