Q: Questionwhat kind of fans can i add to the case, which are the same specs as the stock ones?(3 answers)
A: AnswerOne of the few consistent criticisms of the 4000D cases I’ve seen is that Corsair chose to use very inexpensive fans in an otherwise very good case, so pretty much any fans you buy will be as good or better. The ones in there now are basic sleeve bearing fans, which will likely get noisy or fail within a few years. Sleeve bearing fans are generally rated for around 30,000 hrs lifespan. FYI, if you keep the current fans, don’t mount them to the top of the case. Sleeve bearing fans tend to fail much more quickly when mounted horizontally. Any 120mmx25mm case fans will work. If you want to stick with Corsair, their ML120 Magnetic Levitation fans are their best but expensive, or if you like RGB lighting they have a lot of fans to choose from. You can buy multi-fan kits that will save you some money. I replaced my stock fans (and added 2 more) with Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, which have SSO2 fluid/magnetic bearings that are rated for 150,000 hrs lifespan and run much quieter than the stock ones. With fans, you can go with the cheaper ones and expect to replace them every few years, or put in good ones that will run quieter and probably last for the life of the PC. Hope this helps. You can find lots of articles online about fans and the various bearing types, blade designs, etc. that the various manufacturers use.Answered by MarkC

- A: AnswerHi BiggityBates, If you are mounting a 280mm radiator atop in our 4000 Series cases, we recommend using low-profile memory such as our LPX for height clearance. Otherwise, a 240mm radiator will fit fine with taller memory modules. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out: support.corsair.com -Albert

Outstanding Case - A Perfect Blend of Style and Fu
couldn't be happier with my choice. This case has exceeded all my expectations, and it deserves every bit of its five-star rating. First and foremost, the design of this case is stunning. The sleek and minimalist black exterior gives it a premium look that will complement any gaming setup or workstation. The smoked tempered glass side panel not only adds to its aesthetics but also allows you to showcase your components with pride. But it's not all about looks; the 4000D AIRFLOW delivers where it counts. The airflow in this case is exceptional, thanks to its optimized cooling design. With the pre-installed cooling fans and the ample space for additional fans or liquid cooling solutions, my components stay frosty even during intense gaming sessions or demanding workloads. It's a true airflow champion! The cable management system is a dream come true for cable organization enthusiasts like me. The generous cable routing options, tie-downs, and channels at the back of the motherboard tray make it easy to achieve a clean and clutter-free interior. It not only improves aesthetics but also contributes to better airflow. Building inside this case was a breeze. It's spacious, and the tool-free drive installation and removable dust filters simplify the assembly process. Plus, the magnetic front panel and easily removable side panels make maintenance a piece of cake. I appreciate the attention to detail Corsair has put into this case. The I/O panel is conveniently located at the front, featuring USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, and audio jacks. It's always great to have easy access to these ports. In conclusion, the CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW ATX MidTower Case in Black is a top-notch choice for anyone looking for a case that combines style, functionality, and excellent cooling performance. It's a pleasure to build in, a treat for cable management enthusiasts, and a real head-turner in terms of design. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of a new case. Five stars well-deserved!

Best Case I've EVER Owned!
So I decided to upgrade my case due to some pretty bad thermals in my previous rig. The Corsair 4000 series looked very appealing due to it's attractive build and quality features. I originally ordered the 4000X but did some additional research that the glass front panel negatively impacted thermals. So the 4000D Airflow looked to be a good choice. It wasn't... It was a GREAT choice! The best features? 1) Tremendous thermals. I was previously running in the mid 60's at max usage and had to run the fans at full speed to do that, making the rig noisy as all get out. With the Airflow 4000D I barely run the fans at idle and at max my temps are in the mid 50's! The lowest I've ever had in any of my pc builds! 2) Love the cable management system! Very easy to use and I've never been this organized in the back of my desktop. In addition, I'm liking the shield to the right of the 24 pin connection so you can't see behind the motherboard. Also, it's nice to have space down below for my ssds, which also helps to hide wiring, etc. 3) The front panel grid is great and it's nice that you can order an additional glass panel so you can switch out looks based on what you're using the desktop for. At idle, the glass panel works well and for only an extra $10, it's worth it. 4) Plenty of spaces for extra fans. I already had a full set of six Corsair RGB fans so it was great they would all fit! 5) The overall build quality of the case is top notch! It looks great and is sturdy and durable. A few minor issues: 1) I would have preferred a glass door panel with hinges. Although the side glass panel is well built, when I go to close the side panel I always worry I'm going to break the glass when it snaps back in place. It's pretty tight to close. 2) I would have preferred holes that were a few mms larger so I could have run my usb and fan plugs in spaces that were closer to their ports. 3) I think the top shelf grid could have been laid out with better positioned holes for center mounting of fans. I was able to find a way to modify, but Corsair should have either centered the adjustable slots or not had them at all. 4) As much as I like the vertical mount access, the backplates are positioned in a way where the GPU is way too close to the side glass panel, choking off air to the card. Just not a realistic positioning to keep a vertical GPU cool. 5) It would have been nice to have had an additional USB 3.0 port on the top of the case and I do miss the cpu activity light. All in all I'm still very, very happy with this case and would recommend it to anyone who wants a great looking case that has some of the best airflow for it's size and price. Well done Corsair!
