I had repeated video loss and What honestly really killed me keeping this item was the 15 day return policy. If it was 30 day I would of kept trying to figure out the issue and would of kept if I could resolve it. The good: 4K picture was sharp, great detail in images. Lots of clarity. Multiple motion sensitivity zones per camera. You can have 24 / hr recording and motion detect notifications so you can review anything any time but only get notified. (Incase maybe you think something happened between notifications.) The bad: Mainly I kept losing video feed. This may of been an issue with me some how it’s not widely reported. But what good is a camera that doesn’t work. Poor instructions come in the box. The manual online is very detailed and expansive but hard to navigate. There is a learning curve with setting it up beyond the basic Out of the box settings. I didn’t find the system to be really intuitive. Built in light : I’m not sure it’s rating in Lumens but I’d have to guess it’s like 10. It’s not very bright at all. If you use it might as well set it to flash as it’s only purpose is to make someone look at the camera. It doesn’t light up anything. Definitely not enough to see any better at night if you’re hoping to use it as a motion activated spot light. Color Night Vision : I have flood lights over my garage and the camera was adjacent. They’re pretty bright but unless I really tweaked the color settings on the camera it stayed in black and white. Clearly it needs not just a little ambient lighting. It needs a fair amount. It seemed that a partially cloud day would trigger the motion sensor as clouds went over. Might be needing sensitivity adjustment. Did the same when I had inside and room would get lighter and darker. The other notes from my experience : I did as the instructions suggested. I hooked everything up in my dining room and actually let it run for a day and a half made sure all camera and cables worked. It was good. I set up the first camera. Set it for 24/7 recording with motion notifications. Crawled thru my attic etc. ran the cable seemed ok, walked around got notifications and seemed fine. Then I noticed the next day I didn’t have a notification when i pulled the car out of the driveway. I looked further into it and there was a video loss for a period of time. I had a couple. I check settings to make sure I had it set to 24/7 recording. 2TB HD might as well use it. So We ordered a pizza, I had the unit connected to a monitor right next to my computer and I figured hey I’ll see the pizza guy pull up and then go answer the door. About 5 mins later the screen went black and said Lorex and I realized no camera feed. I checked the power cables next to me restarted the system camera came back on. 10 mins later feed loss again. Do some research - I even un mounted the camera made sure connections were good - still kept having this issue. One of the suggestions was a bad HD or bad power. Check the cables connection etc, try different power plug. Did those. The HD suggested opening it up and disconnecting HD - but a 13 day old unit shouldn’t be needing this plus I wasn’t going to open it up - sounds like a great way to void return / warranty. So instead I left it go another day see it it still happened after I checked the cable in the attic and tried different power source and it still happened. So that was day 14 I was out of time to trouble shoot it was keep it or return it - so I took it back the next day. Had they worked properly I’d be posting a much more favorable review.

I'm really happy with these cameras. I'm glad I chose the Lorex Brand. The image is so clear even the night vision.
