A:AnswerYes the accidental plan and the protection plan are to different thing but both will help you with all of your needs. THe accidental plan is for the screen, hardware, ect while the protection plans help with any problems that may occur. And if you go to Best Buy they can tell you more about this and they can give you information on this
A:AnswerIncorrect. If you purchase a protection plan on an open boxed item and you need repaor or replacement.... If they deem the item needing to be replaced they will deny you a replacement and advise yku to buy the newer product and they refund that original amount you paid for the open box item. Making it pointless in having purchased the open box item or protection plan to begin with.
I purchased an open box tv not even a year ago. Was sold a prptection plan and told the same protection applies to this tv as it would a new one. Fast forward to now, my tv has lines going through the picture & only getting worse. They no longer make my tv and offered to exchange it free to the upgraded version. Great. Nope. Not great!
They said because my item was an open box item I got at a discounted price, if I wanted the replacement I had to PURCHASE the new tv & theu would simply refund the original amount I paid for the discounted tv. Which defeats the entire purpose of me buying the discounted open box item all together if I have to buy a new tv anyways. I got a deal on a tv for them to basically say I now have to buy my replacement at a small discounted rate.
Never again will I buy a protection plan from Best Buy, nor a tv. Buyer beware. They will lie to you to get you to buy open box items without disclosing to you that these open box items if they make new versions of it will cost you more out of pocket if your item breaks to have replaced.
A:AnswerBest Buy claImed they could do this for us; however, when we picked up the computer I noticed it had not been cleaned. I asked about it and was told they were not equipped to clean my computer (it was quite dusty). I also have a fan that no longer worked due to the dust as per the tech. We cleaned the fan blades and that particular blade is still not working. Very disappointed in them and will not be renewing our top tier membership. Biggest disappointment is BB failed to notify us of a problem and did not tell us they did not clean it; they just gave it back to us. Poor form.
A:AnswerI view is what does the protection plan cover prior to purchasing it. Then even though it was an accident Best Buy chose to cover the incident. So over all it is a business transaction the chain is not your buddy. So I would just accept what was offered and be content.

A:AnswerHi Dana. Thank you for your awesome question! I'm sorry to hear what happened with the Chromebook. If you were to purchase a new one with Geek Squad Protection and something like that happened again, absolutely. It would cover the full repair of the device. I hope this helps out! Please let us know if you need anything else.

A:AnswerHi there. Thanks for your great question. It sounds like you may have a Total Tech Support membership or an older Geek Squad Tech Support plan. Total Tech Support replaced our previous plans to cover your computers, home and vehicles. You can learn more about the plan by visiting: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/services/total-tech-support/pcmcat1494357892646.c?id=pcmcat1494357892646 or by contacting your local Best Buy.
A:AnswerGreat question! It's important to know everything that our 2-Year Accidental Geek Squad Protection covers. Generally speaking, this would not cover upgrading the Ram. Instead, you would want to look at a service like our Total Tech Support for that. You can find our Total Tech Support at this link, here: (https://www.bestbuy.com/totaltechsupport) If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to call us at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778.
