A:AnswerDOCSIS standards dictate that the service provider must distribute firmware updates to cable modem devices. The end-user cannot simply install an update like most other network-enabled devices.
ARRIS develops the software update and makes it available to service providers. The service providers qualify, test, and distribute the software update to devices on their network. ARRIS has limited control or visibility on distribution by the service providers.

A:AnswerThis will work to connect Dish receivers such as the Hopper or ViP receivers to the internet provided by your ISP (internet service provider). This is assuming that the router is compatible with your ISP but you will want to make sure of that before purchasing. Keep in mind that you will likely also need/want a router of some sort to enable you to connect multiple devices to your internet connection.
A:AnswerI would call Verizon to see if this is a compatible modem. I don't see it on their list. This is a modem, or a bridge to from a cable network to Ethernet. You would then need a router internally that would do the mesh. The modem shouldn't affect any internal devices. Your wireless router would be the firewall/nat etc. I have the google wifi mesh router/APs. I really like them and they are easy to set up.
