Please note that this device is a cable modem only, it does not has an inbuilt Wi-Fi router
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is just a modem. It can be utilized within the XFINITY Network, however you will need to purchase a dedicated router, or mesh network to set up Wi-Fi. The only way you could get away with using just this, is if you're hardwired.

Please try again later.Yes, this will work with any internet modem but you need to have a modem that connects from your internet service provider (Xfinity) for this to connect to. The line in from Xfinity would connect to a cable modem and the router would connect to the cable modem. Do you have a cable modem already? Is it a combined unit from Xfinity with the router built-in? If so, you are likely renting the device from Xfinity and would need a replacement combo unit or a modem and router to replace the device you have. This requires some tech knowledge as Xfinity will not help or support customer-owned devices so you are on your own if you go this direction. If all you need is to get a better signal to another part of your space, you might check with Xfinity about an extender vs. replacing the whole setup. That said, I'll continue by saying that depending on the speed you get from Xfinity, this device is likely overkill and way more $$ than you need to spend. If you have Xfinity Internet, find out what speed you are paying for or getting from them before deciding on a router. Unless you have 1000 mbps from them, you don't need to spend this kind of money on a device! At 600 mbps or less, the TP-Link Deco M5 is excellent and much less expensive. It's also super easy to setup and use and provides coverage for the whole house. I have 3 devices streaming Netflix, Prime and other services with no issue while having many devices connected such as laptops, iPads, phones and other smart home devices.
