A:AnswerThe speakers have an automatic mute feature which may be causing you to "hit/tap" the controller. I would do some research (contact the company's customer service dept. or just ask Uncle GOOGLE if there's a way to defeat this function. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerDon't know, but I doubt it, as your computer uses USB drivers to interface with your computer when connected through USB. If you use a mini plug patch cord with a male stereo connection on each end, that works. plug one end into the computer's headphone jack (if that works), and the other end into the bose's hockey puck volume control.

I think Bose does not want you to use this system outside pc/mac environment so much that sound is so good/close to Bose home system.
